Here's mine: Early 1950's: I got my parents to send off for this decoder kit. You put this plastic sheet over the TV screen and used their marker to trace over parts of letters. Each week you added to the letter parts until the secret message was revealed. I enjoyed the process, but I must have been disappointed in the message as this is the first and last thing I ever ordered from TV.

on something new you'd like to learn? We're told that the way to keep our brains healthy is to continue to keep it active as we age. So I wonder if many of you sign up for courses to learn something new?

I look around today at all the kids who are medicated for attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity and all kinds of similar disorders. I can't remember kids being like that and needing to be medicated way back when I was in school. Is it just me or is lack of discipline the problem these days, where it's easier to drug a kid than discipline him or her?

People are talking these days about the temp. We have had 102 degrees but I remember before AC, the days were hot, windows open, screens in windows. Cool drinks in the shade. I don't remember suffering like people seem to today. What are you remembering?

And if someone wants to object because I am WAY too young - I can take that!

Otherwise - first question on this page.

When do you begin to feel any different than how you felt when you were 18?

OK - I've got a few aches and pains where I never used to have them, and the knees make strange noises when I (attempt) to bend down - but apart from that - not a lot has changed.

Although the man I married is not looking as young as he was!
He seems to be changing - although looking at him now in the garden - he aint so bad with the shirt off and the sun shining on the sweat of his back!

Whoa there - remember your age girl!

There again .............. it is my birthday!!!!!

Did you change as you got older?

AND are you a 'born again teenager' now you're a senior?

1. How old were you
2. Who did it or where was it done
3. What was your first earring in your new piercing
4. Did you get more

I was 17. My mom did my ears with an ice cube to numb them, a darnig needle with dental floss threaded through it, and a cork behind my ear. Then I got to do hers.

I slept with the dental floss overnight. The next day she bought me some beautiful pearl earrings that screw in. The hole was almost closed and I spent two hours screwing those new earrings into my ears. Yes it hurt! I still have one.

Several years later in my 30's, I got a second hole in each ear at the mall. It wasn't very memorable. I don't use them very often. Now that my original holes are getting stretched from the phone and heavy earrings I use the back hole sometimes.

because you may not be as active as you once were, do you find that the older you get, the less you want to eat? Does your appetite wane as you age?

My mom is a comfort food eater and she keeps saying she just isn't hungry but only eats because she knows that she should.

I loved the football games and I was part of the Pep Squad. Someone go the idea to tear up pages from a telephone book into itty bitty pieces and used them as confetti to throw when we got a touchdown. They also used rolls of toilet paper as streamers. They threw this from the windows. The school staff was not amused. I laughed so hard. lol Good fun.

AKA Drive in theatre. We used to put a few people in the trunk and "sneak" them in. Do you remember checking to see who's windows were fogged over? Hot and steamy stuff going on inside the car? Do you remember the film breaking and everyone honking their horns? That silly "snack bar" cartoon they always ran? Then the long line up leaving?

Have you encountered someone in an official capacity who has been all nice/friendly, said they would help you get a disability pension, housing, then have them turn around & say "I cant help you." They drop you flat on your face AFTER you got your hopes up? This is so cruel.

IMO false hope is worse than no hope. You leave thanking God, feeling SO relieved someone is finally going to help you, then they just slam you back down again.

Not only have they gotten your hopes up, you have stopped pursuing other avenues believing you have found THE ONE person who is finally going to help you?

I want someone to give me the straight goods when I ask a question or for assistance, I dont want to be given the easy answer (for them).

I waste my energy filling out paperwork for them getting Drs letters, running around only to find out they knew they couldnt help all along. I dont care if they had "good intentions", I want the truth to start with. Has this happened to you?
