Grandma is still pretty alert and a kind person. But she will talk to visitors and ppl who call on the phone asking for one of us about very personal things-- "I was sitting on the toilet when you called." And she will also talk about being "regular" and being constipated. If she just said those things to us, no problem. But she discusses this with total strangers and ppl she doesn't know well. Your suggestions please.

I really did not appreciate some of your remarks in answer to my question about OJ Simpson.

They were uncalled for and really not in the spirit of what Yahoo should represent.

Please keep your personal opinions to yourselves, unless one asks specifically for "comments"

Lets just all grow up.

I know more than a few members grew up in rural areas, or small towns, did you go out raiding gardens and orchards when you were a kid? Did you ever get caught doing it?

We used to go after the new peas, and the orchards. All those green apples, they never bothered me but some of my friends sure paid for eating them ..

One thing though because our families all had gardens and we knew how much work went into them we didnt do any damage.

Huger....pronounced who gee (I looked for ever trying to find this whoo gee street)

Horry...now folks I pronounced it as it was written, but it is OARY (couldn't find that street on the map either!)

Round O,,,nope not round o, ROND O

I know where the 'flaws' are in the Christian religious system. I want to unify the denominations of Christianity in this country (USA) and world wide. Example; the scriptural old testament is the law of Moses; not Genesis-Malachi. How do I get others to see that (the sooner the better in my present opinion)?

I just wanted to thank you for the warm welcome you gave me yesterday. You are the nicest bunch of folk I've seen.
Now, on to my question. My dad has mid stage PD and uses a cane or his"stick" when walking. He has many falls almost daily. He and my mom are going on a short vacation with my sister. My sister wanted to get a walker for my dad and was asking me what I thought about it. I work with him twice a week so I am more aware of his needs than my sister who lives out of state. I suggested that she should at least talk to our mom about it. She reluctantly did, and the answer was a definate "NO!". My sister is considering buying a walker anyway and bringing it along as a "surprise". How would you feel if your daughter gave you this kind of surprise?

I'm not talking about me but my grandmother. My grandfather does not have much longer to live and my grandmother doesn't want to deal with anything after he passes. She stopped taking care of herself and caring about herself. She said if he was sick, she might as well be sick too. She doesn't care about seeing doctors and has upcoming medical appts and wants to cancel, thinking "what's the point?" The fact is life has to go on, when a person passes even if you've been married for 63 years. I kinda understand what she means but I know there are lots of elderly widowers who are out there learning to deal with life alone. How do they do that without their husband/wife after long years of marriage?

"Religion & Spirituality" section out of sheer frustration? I can't handle all the closed minded, hate filled people there. It's amazing that it brings out the worst in people.

So far we have been offered :

The Feather Pluckers Experience

The Fowl Eggsperience

HETTIWOOD

All Creatures Feathered and Edible Day Out

We were hoping the Rod Stewart would open it for us with a rendition of 'Hot Wings' or perhaps Kate 'Wing'slett could cut the ribbon.

Suggestions please - although they would all have to be at least 'hay' list celebrities!

I am torn between a picture of a very large rooster (see how careful I was there?!) with the wording 'CHICKEN PIMP' under it - OR - the rear view of FRANCIS the cow just as she goes into the shed for milking with the words 'RARE OR WELL DONE' in italics.

Any ideas?

This is truly interesting. Do you think it would work? Somehow,I think my Grands would be disapointed without a gift at gift giving time. Please share your thoughts.

According to a recent New York Times article, it’s charity donations. In an effort to reduce the clutter of unused toys and to teach altruism in children, some parents are now requesting “no gifts” for their children’s birthday parties. Instead, guests are encouraged to make a donation to a charity in the child’s name. While it may not be as much fun for the child, it does have a good lesson behind it. Kids need to learn at an early age the value of giving to others. So help your child stay other-focused...and remember...
remember your family first....

We've been fans of "The Closer" since it started, and this year we've been watching "Damages" (might not miss that one, we'll see if the finale offers any redemption), "Saving Grace," (irreverent, but entertaining), and "Burn Notice" (right up there with "The Closer" as a keeper).

my granny just rocked in her easy chair and knitted all day long. she could sit for hours doing something so repetious. but she was really grumpy as she got older. if he postman was late she was ready to whack him with a skillet. just wondering. easy come, easy go i say.

but you couldn't pay me enough to knit. and sometimes answering these questions reminds me of granny's knitting. it takes a lot of time and you don't earn any money. i'd best get outside and feed the animals. there is work to be done.

Little moron jokes
Kock knock Jokes
Elephant Jokes
When my grown children were pre-teen they drove me mad with knock knock and elephant jokes.
I think I must have done the same to my parents with the little moron jokes and silly riddles.

Why did the elephant paint his toenails red?

Many of you know that my daughter needs another kidney transplant. I usually do not ask for prayers for her unless it is critical.

This issue has to do with her job! She has been working and doing dialysis at night. This allows her condition not to interfere with her work; however, she was recently salaried and since, they have been leaning on her to work overtime too...a lot!

Now, understand that they knew her condition when she started working there and agreed that she would be able to make doctor appointments and such. This was NO problem, until she was salaried!

They are putting pressure on her and she thinks they may be trying to provoke her into quitting or, giving her so much work that she cannot accomplish all of her duties.

She is in fact, doing the job of two people! Who among you, will pray with me that they do not take her job from her? She works too hard and it gives her more of a reason to get up and keep going!

I thank you, in advance, for your prayers.
