I wish I had never seen it.
Stephen Kings novels are to much for this little lady.

I don't read a lot of Stephen King, but I read "The Shining" and saw the movie. It is one of the eeriest movie or book I know of. Yet, for some dumb reason I like it.
I stayed in a hotel in Arkansas while on vacation once, it was the 100th anniversary of the hotel as well. The ambiance,of this hotel reminded me of "the Shining". We had a corner room at the end of a very long hall. Needless to say I didn't sleep well at all, and we ended up staying just one night, not 2.
I might just watch this movie on Halloween, but not with my Husband, he hates it.

Oh that was a scarey movie. But not as much as the book tho.
I think it was even scarier in my imaginative thoughts, than on
the screen. Much of the movie was filmed in Oregon at the
ski lodge on Mt Hood. Or so I read at one time. I can't remem-
ber much of the interior from the movie after all these years.
But I remember at the time, I recognized it. And it isn't as
scarey as some mountain hotels I've seen pictures of. I re-
member how the moving shrubs in the shapes of animals
came to life in my mind, and in the movie, they were less
animated, and less scarey. I can't remember how it ends now.
Does the father stay insane, or does he snap out of it when
they leave? Jack Nicolson played a crazy, really convincingly.

The second version of "The Shining" was much better than the first, but neither was as good as the book.

Another movie that was absolutely horrible and didn't follow the book AT ALL, except that there was a dog in it, was Dean Koontz's "The Watchers." A wonderful book, a putrid movie.

Me to, Bubbi. The movies I have never seen are:
The Exorcist.
The Omen.
Rosemary's Baby.
Texas Chainsaw movies.
Anything to do with the real occult, or things that have to do with satan, I leave alone.

Some funny movies that make fun of all that trash are "Scarey movie , 1 and 2. Very, very funny.

P.S. I almost didn't recognize you with your helmet. You are all set for football. Good for you.

Oooo, the old man(whats his name?)was PERFECT for the movie. It's old but i still have it to tell the truth! I didn't really understand the part when the lady was running down the hall and saw the teddybear with an old man? Ewww.

I read the book before seeing the movie & as always...the movie "in my mind" is always better than what we get to see...I LOVE frightening movies...especially if they have a weird twist at the end....been watching them since I was 6...& will never outgrow them!!
