Many of you know that my daughter needs another kidney transplant. I usually do not ask for prayers for her unless it is critical.

This issue has to do with her job! She has been working and doing dialysis at night. This allows her condition not to interfere with her work; however, she was recently salaried and since, they have been leaning on her to work overtime too...a lot!

Now, understand that they knew her condition when she started working there and agreed that she would be able to make doctor appointments and such. This was NO problem, until she was salaried!

They are putting pressure on her and she thinks they may be trying to provoke her into quitting or, giving her so much work that she cannot accomplish all of her duties.

She is in fact, doing the job of two people! Who among you, will pray with me that they do not take her job from her? She works too hard and it gives her more of a reason to get up and keep going!

I thank you, in advance, for your prayers.

I , too, will pray for you both. God is gracious in His mercy. I have a group of friends that I pray with and you two will be joining our list in the morning.

You are probably aware that your daughter is sheltered by the Americans With Disabilities Act because of her ESRD. There may be some things that you can do for her, or help her to do for herself. Call your local office of Vocational Rehabilitation and ask to speak to a counselor. He or she may be able to give you some pointers on what to look for, what to document and what actions can be taken if she does lose her job. The phone number can probably be found in your Government pages in the phone book. You might also want to look up the Americans With Disabilities Act on the net. It's something you should know about and understand so that this type of thing does not happen.

With one so young, who's trying so hard in the face of physical adversity, this is a sham being perpetrated by those who have no heart.

God bless you both. You're in our prayers.

If they knew a person had a medical probelm or disability when they were hired and they moved that person into another position, whether its a promotion or not, an employer cannot discriminate against said employee because of a disability, medical problem, or a situation they were aware of and accomodated before the position was changed.

Knowing of her condition prior to the change they cannot now require her to work additional hours and overtime. Been there, done that.

She should get a letter from her doctor that she cannot work overtime. There is always the labour board, but then they will find another reason to let her go. Some employers are real low lifes.

I will include her in my prayers and her employer too, maybe God can reach this person -

Of course she has my prayers and will have from my church and 2 prayer networks. You will also be included in those prayers as I have walked in your shoes along with my sister whose husband needed a new Kidney also. I shared her stress with her so she was not alone.
As far as now having a salaried job, my husband was offered salary and he flat out told them no as you will be used more that you ever were before. She always has the right to tell them to take her off salary and put herself back on regular time. They simply don't care about her health and that is disgusting. It may be keeping her going but are the ends justifying the means? Tell her to go back on regular pay and she will be glad she did and she won't have to work the job of 2 people and her company can find someone health to put on salary.
My heart goes out for both of you. Prayers will continue until she is well and GETS off the salary. They cannot refuse her either nor can she loose her job. Companies hate Discrimination charges. Be well and take care of you so you can be there for her.

I am truly sorry to hear about your daughter. May I suggest that she talk with human resource manager, they have records of her condition. You may also want to contact the ADA, since she could actually be considered "disabled" they have certain guidelines that they have to follow, including work hours. Apparently, your daughter was an hourly employee and was promoted or changed to salaried. Perhaps the doctor could send a note, they have to abide by the doctors recommendation.

I will keep your daughter in my prayers. I do hope that there is a donor soon and she will have a normal life once again, Blessings to the family

When two or three agree as to touching anything on earth, it will be done, by or Father in Heaven. Matthew 18:19

No we agree in prayer with you that: - "You, our Heavenly Father, will come into this situation, and protect your precious child from any more abuse from her employers, that they will not stop her from attending her dialysis ever again, and that you will open the doors, for a new job, with honourable sensitive employers, better pay, and a better loving environment for her to work in. We also know, that You are the same yesterday, today and forever, and we ask in Jesus name that you will heal her kidney, or be the God of Suddenly and provide a donor, so that that this girls may go on to lead a a normal life. We thank you , you have heard our prayer, and praise you for a quick conclusions to this. Amen"

God bless you and your daughter. It is tough enough working and dealing with medical problems, then to be singled out by the company you are working for. I agree with the other person who suggested that she keep a daily log of what is going on. She may need it for back up. She must be a very strong willed young lady to deal with everything that is going on. She is in my thoughts and prayers:~)

This is the first time I have come across you on Yahoo Answers. I am very sorry to hear about your daughter.

It is sad to know that not only does she have to deal with her illness, but she has the added stress of wondering if she will keep her job.

I am Pagan, and I do not believe in a Christian God, but it is obvious to me that you must if you are seeking prayer. Although prayer does not work for me, I will pray for you and your daughter.

May you both find Peace and Good Health!

I've read your request just now, I was out earlier. I've added my prayer to all the others here. I've ask God to intervene in all areas of your daughter's life, with what is best for her according to His will.

Just in case something would happen to this job, God will have a better plan for her. We can't see the path ahead, but He is already there. Bless you and this precious girl!

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's work related issues. I pray that she'll be able to keep her job. She sounds like a real asset to the company & they'd be fools to let her go. Your daughter will be in my prayers & you'll be in my prayers also. As a mother myself, I know how concerned you must be.

I am so sorry your daughter is having to go through all of this.
I certainly feel your pain as well, as a mother myself. Isn't there anyone she feels close to and trusts in the company that she could discuss this problem with? Have her speak with her doctor and get his advise perhaps. Is there an ombudsman in the company she could take this up with?
My love and prayers go out to you and her. I hope that soon things will look sunnier.
