We were talking about this in history class recently. At what point in American history did African-Americans begin to give their children names with uniquely African-American flavour (think "Jamelia" or "Shontavius"), rather than traditionally Anglo-European names like "Mary" or "Charles?"

Just wondering how many people out there get upset when they hear a racist comment or question. I get mad when I hear a negative comment about anyone that is made off of sterotypes and made out of ignorance. So how many other people get upset about racist comments? Also do you only get upset when the comments about your own race or do you get upset if it has to do with another race.

I'm sure this question has been posted before, but I'm still gonna ask anyway. I'm half Japanese and the other is Caucasian and guys make it a big deal and think I'm the hottest thing ever ( I don't see it I really don't) so what it is about us Asian/ Half Asians that attracts most guys? i know the defense for gay marriage is that the two people love each other and deserve to get married...then why cant we say the same for a brother and a sister who are in love and want to get married, we would call that incest...and how about a 50 year old man and a 12 year old girl who are in love, why cant they get married?

I am a black person, and i was wondering why we have to act so ignorant. PLEASE no RACIAL COMMENTS

but still, why? Why do we have to make up a large percentage of poor people in America. Why do we choose to have artificial dreams like going to the NBA, instead of wanting to be a doctors and lawyers. Why do our parents have to raise their children like retarded animals that care nothing of education. Why are we sagging our pants and talking like we Ebonics. It's bad when the white man has to make up some sort of dialect just to name what the heck we are speaking. Why are we raising our young women to look like prostitutes. Why are we raising our men to be unsupportive fathers? Why do we not value education? WHY WHY WHY???

(some of us do act like we have sense, but why do our fellow brothers and sisters have to act this way?)

Why is it that when there is a black on black crime or black on Asian or white crime, nobody talks about it, but when theres a white on black crime its all over the news all the time?Just my opinion but dont hate crimes go all ways?When a white person attacks a black person its a hate crime so why isnt it considered a hate crime when its a black person commiting it? My beautiful baby girl was born on June 6th, 2006. Yes, its true. She's a 6-6-6 baby. We embrace the irony of her birth date. We think its funny, not 'creepy' or 'satanic'. For a Halloween party at our community center, we dressed her up as a little devil. It came up in conversation with a couple of our neighbors that we were chatting to that her birthday was 06-06-06. They immediately got very awkward. They said that it was horrible that she was born on that day (like I could help it). Then they took their kids away from my daughter and told them they couldn't play together anymore! Are you serious?!

Should I even waste my breath by saying something to these people or just be thankful that awful people like that aren't in my daughters life? The really sad part? My own mother-in-law won't acknowledge the fact that she was born on 06-06-06. She knows that that's her birth date, but she thinks its terrible that we refer it like that. Why do people take it SO seriously?
