And this isn't an anti-american question by the way, just curious. But why do people in America use the UK Yahoo answers? Is there not an American one or do they just prefer this one?

The reason that I ask is that down at the bottom of the screen there is a place with all the countries which have Yahoo answers. I know that I am on the UK one because I chose UK and Ireland but there is an American one aswell and assume that means there is a seperate site.

I am American and I'm using the US site... Funny about an hour ago I saw a post from someone in UK asking where the US site is.. Although I didn't answer it.

By default, when you log on, your ip tells yahoo's herculean computers where you are logging in from, you are generally automatically sent to the site that is relevant to your country, once you reset and go to a certain flag, your home computer does that for you and takes you to the language site you have selected, I am guessing this section is crossed with the UK one due to use of the same language...

Hmmm, interesting, I am not logged on UK answers but see your question. So the sites must share common access.

If these were audio file questions then it would be because Americans like listening to the accent.

The questions get put together. Uk questions get put on the American site as well.

I think it is down to crappy navigation by Yahoo. We seem to get a lot of international questions - I know I do, even though I have clearly selected 'UK and Ireland'!

I think most of uk visitors use answer and Americans find their answer from there.

?! Good morning! I just log on after checking e-mail, weather, etc. There is a box to the left containing English or U.S. answers only, but I don't use it. I just quickly start reading or answering. :)

It's all the same site, you silly!
I don't even bother to "click" on a particular country.
