I know many Europeans think Americans are ignorant of the rest of the world.

But when I conducted a scientific experiment by asking a cross representive sample of Europeans...

To point to Burkina Faso on the map, name it's captiol and it's president.. And who is the senator for Ohio..

Not one European could answer any of my questions of the top of their head.

I'm only aware the Jewish ancestors suffered holocausts (very shameful and heartless).

So why all the insults on tv (Micheal Richards, Mel Gibson) and in movies (Borat). I'm very far from being a Jew, but I feel it's really sad to live through all thise rants and persecution.

What did the Jewish do to deserve this ?

What was considered normal behavior in the 1950's is not normal now and vice verse. So I think the definition should change to something like: Normal - An act or behavior that is accepted by the current general society as a whole. What are your opinions? Just a thought?

My Nan was relaying a conversation she'd had with her friend, and identified her as "my friend Lil, the coloured lady across the road". I told her that she couldn't say 'coloured' but must refer to her as black. My Nan asked "why?", and I realized that I didn't really know! I'd just always been told through school that 'coloured' is racist, but it's never been explained to me.

This is a genuine question, as I really don't know the answer. I know the older generation are stuck in their ways as it's all they've known, but I'd like to be able to qualify my statement to her! Thanx!!

Nowhere in the world can Americans go other than America and celebrate the 4th of July and have whatever country they are in be subjected to all the festivities. So I am wondering why the hell do news channels cover parties for this...well whatever the hell it is. I was born and raised in America. I am of mexican decent, my grandmother (x5) came to America LEGALLY. So I dont have a damn clue as to what this stupid cinco de mayo is, nor do I care. So why the hell should I be seeing anything to do with it in America...Can you YAHOOers tell me why?

What do the 2 groups have in common?:
Group 1: Aki-sha, D'avante, Ma-onnie, Kadeshia, Javonte'
Group 2: John, Susan, Theresa, Gary,Daniel, Marcia
Answer: They are names of black adults. Group 1 are adult names taken off of medicaid cards. Group 2 are actual names of local black doctors, lawyers and pharmacists.
I am not a socialologist but there seems to be a direct relationship to ghetto names and future success.
I only gave a few examples out of literally hunreds of names I could have listed but the results are the same as above.

i say i am black because when people see my mom they are like oh she is black. i know that i came from a black woman for sure so i know i am black. i my not look like what people say is black but i don't care. i tell people if they were to start that whole black only and white only thing again to day, (there would not be a mixed section because black people are mixed to), they would take one look at my mom and say "get your *** to the black section."
my dad is Asian and he makes sure i follow my Asian culture as well. i don't really like people saying i am mixed because my mom is just too then, her grandmother father was Mexican and grandmother's mom was black and had Irish. now my moms grandfather was black, Irish, and native. that was on her mom side of the family. my moms dad side has too many to speak of. everyone on my mom side of the family is very light and has long hair. but my mom she is dark skin with shoulder length hair. so i am like how come she has to say black.
