Actually, I think having all different kinds of friends is always a plus. It's great to be close with people who have different backgrounds and see the world differently than you do, you can show each other the world from different perspectives and help each other understand things on a broader spectrum. My best friend and I seem really similar on the outside, but when you see how differently we were raised and the differences in our families, you start to see why we get along so well. We both love the fact that we're not the same, that we weren't raised the same way, that we both led completely different lives before the other showed up. Because of her, I've learned things about the world that I may never have learned otherwise, and the same goes for her. She's given me an appreciation of the diversity of our area, and opened my eyes to new experiences, customs and traditions I knew nothing about. And in turn, I've taught her to appreciate the little things about her home that she never knew existed, and I've shown her how close a family can be (something she didn't really know before). We're better people for having met and learned from each other.

Having friends of other races helps you to understand that race better. It helps you/me not to be a racist because you have close friends of other races. Most importantly, it helps you not to fall for the stereotypes and generalizations that people make about races..to give a positive example of how interracial relationships work, I have found my black friends to be more loyal and trustworthy than many of my white friends..I can tell a black friend something and know it won't go any further, yet I can't always say the same for white women(not all but some) That doesn't mean I prefer one race over the other, that's just a fact to me....The boundaries are the same in all of my friendships regardless of race. I respect their boundaries and expect them to respect mine.

I have been blessed enough to have a very diverse group of friends. I feel the biggest benefit is that we can sit down and discuss stereotypes and dispell them or laugh at them. I have learned alot about different cultures and even picked up some phrases from my foreign friends. We don't really have boundaries that are spoken, it is kinda of understood that we will treat each other with respect. It's nice being able to experience so many different cultures without leaving my city.

I enjoyed having a variety of friends growing up. A girl who lived near me was Phillipino. She was born here in the states, but her mother was born overseas and her grandparents still lived there. I learned a lot about her culture - common games that are played, the delicious food and how it's made.
It has made me a more sensitive person. I could not imagine coming to a foreign country with just a few dollars and not being able to speak the language. That's incredible to me! It also reminds me how blessed I am to be in a country where I don't have to flee for various reasons.

I think having interracial friendships helps you learn more about other cultures and be more accepting of their differences and lifestyles.
It helps you keep and open mind and prepares you for the future when you'll have to encounter and interact with other races in your career.
You may even find someone else's culture very interesting and do some research on it, maybe even follow some of their traditions.
All in all, it's great to have interracial friendships to help keep you an open-minded, accepting and cooperative person. =)

i do not recognize if there is purely one such friendship, yet there are a decision of historic interracial friendships of note. operating example the great football gamers Brian Piccolo and Gayle Sayers. They were thrown mutually as roommates, and determined they necessary to get to understand one yet another on a extra own and man or woman element. over the years, their friendship grew to develop into extra like a brotherhood. THey were godfathers for the different's little ones, etc. And contained in the finest diagnosis, at the same time as Brian develop into demise of maximum cancers, his ideal suppport apart from his family contributors, develop into Gayle. that is a friendship that can't be discounted. i'm certain that in case you actually tried, you would comprehend that your races have little to do with your friendships.

The larger variety of friends, the more you learn about culture, ideas, etc. It helps develope an open mind and explore new things. It also helps in discovering common ground among all human beings. Only sticking if one's "own kind" is extremely restrictive and perpetuates ignorance.
