Why is male nudity so common as compared to female nudity?

Common in what sense? I can't remember when I last saw a picture of a naked man. On the other hand, I'm being bombarded every day by billboards with (almost) naked women telling me to buy this or that.

I've been a nudist since 1963 and I think it is pretty even in numbers.
