I really think we should target the differences about the two races.
How can we solve the crime-issues, un-employment, multiple children with multiple fathers if we do not dare to accept that there is a problem.

If you could choose to be a different race and/or ethnicity which one would you pick and why? Please don't say, oh I'd never want to be anything else. I realize we are all happy with who we are but I'm asking this hypothetically.

I'd choose to be a from India because I admire the emphasis their society places on family. Oh and I love their hair! How about you?

I am asian myself and I am probably one of the nicest persons you could ever meet. I don't do anything to hurt or bother someone else yet they still continue to hate and discriminate towards me. What is the problem with people these days?

How can one "hate" black people but love hip-hop, cornrows and African art? How is it POSSIBLE to hate the people but love the culture? That's like hating Mexicans but love tacos. It makes no sense. Just like how some blacks dislike whites but are Christians. Christianity was the religion used to subjugate black people! Point being, Why do some whites tell blacks to go back to Africa but go home and party to 50 cent? IT'S HYPOCRITAL!

Let me start by saying that I'm not trying to offend anyone or start a debate, but I just want to know if this is a common thing.

Today a friend in one of my "mom groups" was complaining because her oldest son started hanging out with a boy she doesn't care for (he and her son are both 10). She said that the boy is a bad influence. When I asked what the boy had done, her exact words were ... "well, he's black ... he speaks using all of that slang stuff ... his pants are always falling of his butt ... and if his mother let's him act like that then he's not a person I want hanging around my son." I paused for a second and said ... do you realize that the first thing out of your mouth was that he's black? She went on to explain how there were different "levels" of black, and told me that me and my family were "o.k." because we are "preppy blacks". She said "preppy blacks" are black people who are upper middle class or what others would call "white washed". I was shocked!

okay so IM BLACK and i'll be the first to admit that 1. i do recognize the racial oppression by white people in the past and present and 2. being that i have been brought up among primarily "white cultures" (if there is such a thing) as well as a few others - sometimes im kind of oblivious to racist attitudes and intentions. anyway, my parents anda few other black, hispanic and asian people i know are always over analyzing situations in some attempt to withdraw the racist element. and im sure that at least half of the time they are right because lets face it - theres a lot of racism out there. what does annoy me are the relatively few (in comparison with the racist history of our country) situations where minorities take advantage of white ppl using the race card ( the Duke students accused of rape for example) its fine when you are being truthful and feel discrimination but to use the history of injustice to blame every wht person as racist...a little extreme or is that just me?

its always fascinating/annoying/hilarious that there are actually some white people (a relatively small group i think) that actually deny the opression of minorities in america, the world actually, and the fact that THESE ACTIONS HAVE contributed to the society we have today. for those that spew ignorant racist stereotypes- they'll say its the blacks' own fault for having a large percentage living in the ghettos or blame impoverished native american latinos for the state of their economy or blame the blacks and hispanics for drug problems and gangs and situations of the sort. yet rarely are these small groups educated enough to become aware that white ppl have invaded ever land on earth, brought illegal drugs into the ghettos to profit money while naive minoritys turn against one another, oppressed minorities for centuries, etc.im blk & i dont blame one side or the other. We are all responsible for the society we live in. its an action + response =result sort of thing..l8ter loves!

Minorities tell me all the time that I have a sexy shape, but white boys never want me. I have never even been with one. They never pay attention. I guess being blonde and skinny is really what they want.
