I am asian myself and I am probably one of the nicest persons you could ever meet. I don't do anything to hurt or bother someone else yet they still continue to hate and discriminate towards me. What is the problem with people these days?

Maybe because Asians can be racist towards everyone else??? ( I don't think that about you, I don't know you)

All the Asians I ever knew grew up in very strict households, and their parents openly bashed ALL the races... they had some superiority complex.... they tended to like white people more... but they were certainly racist...

I think it's because in the US....the only minority that is generally smarter than whites are Asians.....

Plus people are scarred of what they don't know... and many people may not know or understand Asian families...

I know what you're talking about dude.Like when the US was going in Iraq.People would say something to me about being Iraqian or something even though I'm Indian. And what really gets me mad is that it's people you don't even know who say all these things. When I was in 2nd grade, some teens started talking in some made up Spanish cause they thought I was a Latino...... I just wish they would first see me a person rather than an Indian who's confused about where she belongs

Because *everybody* feels that other races are picking on their race. Even some whites feel like they are getting dumped on.

(Rolls eyes.)

We discriminate against differences. If you take a townful of whites, they will discriminate on brains, height, hair color, sex, and about any other difference you can think of. It's not fair, and it's not nice, but that's the way it is.

BTW, I'm sure you are nice. (-: I myself like Asians in general, and my husband in particular (he's Japanese -- which means if you are non-Japanese Asian, you probably hate him )-:).

Gosh, I wish we could all just get along! Someone join me in a round of Kum-bah-yah!

I'm not sure which part of the western country you are at, but generally we Asians are not helping ourselves when a majority of us are only sticking to our own group.

A lot of Asian neglect to bother to learn the language of wherever country they're at (US, France, Spain, you name it) and because of that they prefer to stick to their own people. It is easier to speak their own language and stick with their own people.

Not only is it rude to be in a country and not speak their language when they're nice enough to let you in, it also breeds suspicion.

Asian parents also tend to stop their children from mingling with their 'new culture' in fear that the children will not appreciate their own culture.

Not every Asian are like that, as not everyone are racist towards Asian.

Maybe some people are afraid of what they don't know. They are all scared of me....but I suppose a purple alien walking down the street would cause some alarm!

on a serious note: i am not asian, but my cousin is...also, maybe they feel inferior to you due to your culture or something....if they don't like you they aint worth the time their watch tells!

It may be for you, but if you look at the media, everyday life, music, you will see that asians are the LEAST made fun of (in the U.S. at least) I think most people are racist against latinos, below that are blacks and latinos V.S. whites being racist against each other. Asians are sort of left out of there because many people will confuse them for completely white people or africans.

Most people only discriminate against Asians who aren't smart. Don't feel bad, it's the same for poor whites, sober Native Americans, skinny Mexicans, and blacks who suck at sports.
