in australia, the issues you mentioned affect both groups, and there are well-adjusted, law-abiding people in both groups too...it's just not that simple...peace

I've found crime-issues, un-employment, multiple children with multiple fathers in all races, so I don't know what to tell you. It seems more of a "poor people" issue than a race issue. Or perhaps, in some cases, a "culture" issue?
Perhaps it would be best if you can get a group started to try to resolve issues you think are really prevalent in your group.
From what I've seen, you have to begin AGAIN with EACH generation, because the information just doesn't seem to carry down from one generation to the next.

To be perfectly honest with you, I think these problems could be better addressed when both races sit down and FINALLY put "races" aside. When everyone finally comes to the conclusion that we are all people, and I repeat that, "people", and not identified by color, then we can come together and solve so many of the problems facing us as people.
I've said this time and time again... Look at the children on the playground. They don't see color. They see other children, their friends, and they play together. It's not until an adult tells them that there is some kind of negative difference between them does race become a factor, and eventually, a division.
Until people come together, to do what is best to solve the problems facing us all, no matter who we are, we will continue to be plagued with all those important issues that you mentioned above that so desperately need to be addressed.
I pray for the day that it no longer becomes black vs. white. But people vs. problems. Are you with me?

What differences? There are all of these issuses present in both races.
Black people need to build themselves up and rise above the stereotypes.
You point out the stereotypical problems with blacks but fail to mention the stereotypical issues with whites (bad form, bad argument... anyone knows when its a versus issue, you have to argue both sides equally)
This is true for all races with those same faults...
Solve crime, make prisions tougher
un-employment, leave them on their own, no welfare, no benefits
multiple children with multiple fathers, tax them...

Education is the first answer to most of these questions. I think it's fairly common knowledge that the more educated a person is the more likely they are to avoid criminal activity, have stable relationships, and have steady employment. And I think this holds true regardless of race. And for the sake of all kids, we need to demand that the government re-allocate funds from schools in the wealthiest areas into schools with more at-risk kids.
Beyond that, I think the black community needs to take more ownership of these issues and treat them as issues to address within their community rather than blaming whites or politicians.
One of the issues I look at has to do with crime statistics. And on going issues is the percentages of blacks vs whites who are incarcerated. When this issue comes up, it is often accompanied by claims of an unfair system or racial profiling. Even if these claims are legitimate, shouldn't we also be asking why more black men than white men are committing crimes rather than asking why they are being punished more or differently?
I have always lived in very white communities so my perception might be slanted, but I believe race is becoming less of an issue in almost every facet of American society. I believe the issues holding back certain races - specifically blacks - has more to do with their own racial culture than society as a whole.

theres no differences between races as far as behavior goes - problems such as these are a combination of oppression, social environment, and personal choices. so instead of being a dumbass target the differences in social environment and encourange improvement not encourage being racist

BLACK and WHITE
We all want healthy relationships. We all love our families, care for and support our friends and we all want our children to be safe, happy and healthy.
The construct of *race* is an intellectual buffer zone that keeps us from realizing that the purpose of humanity is to engage, grow and flourish in word, deed and being.

All I know is that my all-white high school basketball team played an all-black team and we got our a** handed to us on a platter. I don't think there's anything I can do to bridge this difference, so I'll accept defeat by this team two more times this season.
