It makes me so mad. Kids used to tease me about my eyes becasue they were very similar to the eyes of the east asian peoples. Kids used to call me chinky eyes and chinese girl. I used to cry all day to my mom and she said that my eyes were beautiful and exotic. As I got older men would always think I was half korean, or brazillain and some shalllow men would only want me jus tbecause of my look and my "mixed" features. I'm a regular Caribbean girl who is Jamaican and Domincan,

I mean Normans were Vikings who infact same as Anglo-Saxons, all Germanic tribes, so how did Normans become different to Anglo-Saxons in Britain and the talk of saying Normans had this impact and this, well infact they looked the same, spoke the same Language, same culture etc.

I am of Asian descent however I realized some people prefer not to be called Oriental but rather the specific country of origin. How would an Indian be able to differentiate because Indians are Asians. Why is that term Oriental not preferred? I know there's got to be some history to it more than just what the term loosely means.

If anyone that knows the history can shed light on it that would be great.

i was just watching cnn new and they were talking about china having more boys than girl.. that they have a strict one child policy.. i was wondering if any one knew why ...they said that some couples abort the girls when they find out they are carring a girl.. because boys are more desired

understood her and that her friends in halls of residence were just friends who took her out to clubs and that she could'nt go to them with a problem.I felt like she was wrong cos at least she has friends who take her out to student nights.I dont have friends like that.Am I wrong for thinking she was exxagerating and being over dramatic?

Why did he not defend the 3 white women in Long Beach, Ca. when they were beat up by 12 black teenagers? If 3 blacks were beaten by 12 whites he and Jesse Jackson would be there in a flash. That looks like they are racists to me.

I think that so-called "emo" kids are the sad, end-result of over-protective parenting.

These kids grow up without a clue as to what the adult world is like.

They don't realise that you have to fight to succeed in life.

They don't realise that at any point in time, life can kick you right in the nuts, and then stamp on your head whilst you're still on the floor.

They don't realise that you don't always get out of life what you put in, and that you just have to get on with it anyway.

I think most of them will end up being alcoholic... "poor me... poor me... pour me another drink...".

What do you lot think is to blame for these people being the way they are?

I am educating myself on different cultures and am traveling to Mexico. When a person is from Mexico, what do they prefer when speaking about people. Are they Mexican? Spanish? Hispanic? I'm trying to better myself and become more global in thought and development. This is to appreciate and respect the culture, not to offend anyone.
