Unreasonable expectations (of selves and others), expectations of fear, attack, and other violence (derived from programs), and a voracious appetite for things (derived from commercials.) These expectations then strongly influence how the child interacts with others . . . or even WHETHER the child interacts with others (have you noticed how many wear headphones all the time, now?)
"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold" (Matthew 24:12). We are seeing that love "waxing cold" right now as fewer and fewer humans decide to even care about others. Having the self appealed to so much for so long, they wonder why it should stop because of some number.
