really never happened? I see so many qusetions about this. Do we not learn about it in school? This is not a joke question, I am really curiouse to know. It blows my mind that anyone would want to cover the Holocaust up.

Dkylde- The reason that I am asking is because my Grandfather, and my father both fought against Germany in World War 2. Not only that but because it is something that we all need to know, and never forget!

Ya, I'm pretty sure they may start teaching that the Holocaust never happened. It's horrible and I don't know why they want to protect Hitler and those other guys. Some people (mostly historians- go figure) are already saying that it never happened, or they are trying to diminish the horror by saying that it wasn't as bad as others (hmmmm, like c.camp survivors, maybe?) used to say it was. Give me a frikkin break. It is total BS and if we believe them we are ignorant jerks. 6 MILLION Jews were killed in the concentration camps, plus more in the pogroms and those who were "caught in the crossfire." If you don't believe me, watch the newsreels. They're horrible.
To answer your question, I don't know why anyone would want to cover it up, unless they're sick in the head. It's despicable. I will never let anyone close to me forget. If my kids don't learn it in school, I'll tell them myself when they're old enough. There is no way we should be allowed to forget. Ever.

Schools aren't covering up, but certain people would like say it never happened and do. These types, tell children that. This causes confusion. They don't want people to know because they are ashamed of what they did to innocent men, women and children. They have a plethora of things they want to hide. Governments hide things from us all the time. Who knows, maybe in the future they will tell future generations that the Holocaust was a conspiracy theory and phony pics were taken and the whole thing was sham because there'll be no one left alive to account for the events. This is worst case scenario of course. We all know that history gets distorted as time goes on. And the book publishers for the public schools help perpetuate this problem. And that is not a conspiracy theory.

I never learned about the Holocaust in school, then again my schools were pretty bad. My parents told me about it. I'd much rather learn things from them anyway. They don't sugarcoat any details.
