What are Somali people? How do they look?

Somalis are a sub-Saharan black African people , residing in the horn of Africa (ie , Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, for example). They do tend to retain , as the other poster above noted, something more like "Caucasoid" features in many cases (as she noted, the supermodel Iman), or at least they tend to this much more so than do black Africans from central or west Africa, for example, where the common "*******" facial features, etc, are much more prevalent.

Why exactly the Somalis (and many Ethiopians), for example, look this way, look almost like a Caucasoid person with black skin basically, is not something that I can answer. I don't know if anyone knows the answer for sure. Possibly it has to do with intermixing for long periods of time with Arabs or Persians or with Semitic peoples from across the Red Sea, or from the north.

This is how I see Somalis. They are a dark Arab or Jews feature. Meaning they are not of ******* look. Same goes to all East Africans, such as Ethiopians, Eritreans, and Djiboutians. Looking at their geographic location, in the horn of Africa I think that explains it all. They have other races mixed with them I guess. You have Indians living in these countries too.

They are African with generally distinct features, that of Arabic features, but tend to be dark, tall, big butts, skinny lips and noses, curly hair, big foreheads.
