It seems that we have made strides because blacks are not publicly lynched with the sheriff in attendance and little girls who want to learn thier ABC's don't get blown up or thier skulls bashed in. I agree, thats a thing of the past or atleast the sheriff will excuse himself before the mob goes crazy. But has there been a true change of heart in mainstream america to tolerate people or are they just legislating new ways to keep us economically seperated. How many people would be comfortable having a black or hispanic family of similari socio-economic status living next door in every neighborhood in America to EVERY american. I know the number won't work out but it is a theoretical question.

Just a lil' question/dilemma/or whatever..I am in my early 20's and an asian female..Just want to know your thoughts on this..Its not that I hate being asian..in fact I do sometimes wish i was non asian..I hate hanging out in places where there's a congregation of asians..And I hate when asian people approach me thinking that because I'm asian, that we're all gonna be friends...I had heaps of asian friends at high school, in fact just about all my high school friends were asians..but now since i've lost touch with all of them I don't know any. I feel like as an asian, i have to prove myself more..'cos theres all these sterotypes and crap..ugghh..I just get pissed off. I strongly believe that the world is kinder to whites. Its like when I meet people or whatever and when they hear me speak, they're like "WOW..your english is so good"..Its like what the hell, because i'm asian i have to speak like retard..Am i making sense? maybe i'm sounding a lil' irate right now..

It has had a good run, but do we endlessly need to point out when we have said something funny by not so cleverly placing a "lol" at the end of our statements. And most of the time the "lol" referenced sentence was not even mildly amusing, I hold reservations to the fact that the "lol" placee actually laughed out loud. So can we cut it out?

I am going to have a baby very soon a boy and I am having a hard time deciding names. I want to pick a name that is relatively easy for Americans to pronounce. My husband and I have a list of names that we like but a couple that we like in particular. One of these is Kavi. We found it listed as boys name but I just noted on a show one of the actresses named Kavitha goes by Kavi. Is this common. Is it more a girls name than boys. We don't want any parent input so it is hard for us to get an opinion. Thanks for your help.

I've lived in America my entire life. I'm 3/4 Eastern Asian and 1/4 Dutch. However, most of my boyfriends have actually come from Europe, specifically England, the Netherlands, and Russia.

I am 3/4 Asian, and all of my boyfriends--including my current one--have been Caucasian. This is probably because I was raised in a primarily Caucasian area in the West (not California.)

Two years ago I moved to California to attend university. My university has a high percentage of Asians, which is new to me. I've learned that many Asian guys perceive Asian women who date outside their race as "ugly" etc, and that only the "ugly" ones date outside their race. Additionally, they spout that the Caucasian guys they do date are "nerdy" and geeky, and Asian women are merely submissive.

It's a bit annoying as none of the above is true in my case. My very long term ex was from the Netherlands, and was a complete stoner who had never dated Asian girls prior to me. I have also been asked to model, etc. so I don't think I'm that hideous in that I'm forced to date outside my race.

I guess I'm posting this because I'm a bit peeved after speaking with an Asian guy at university...

Meaning that they actually shop at places like Walmart that are chains. Small businesses cant compete with evil corporations like that and therefore go out of business. I know Walmart is cheap but I think America needs to take a stand and not shop there for the greater good of mankind.
