Definitely. No offense to asians, but it is a bit unnerving going to Italy, in order to experience Italian culture, and then to find to your dismay that your hotel is situated in China Town.... But there is not much we can do about it, is there....cultures come and go, i guess.

No, I do not think that heavy immigration is destroying host countries culture, customs and traditions in many ways. The grown up persons, mentally matured and having a good knowledge about their own culture generally will settle in other countries for many reasons.
They will do care primarily about their own culture by neglecting the culture of the host country. All other cultures will naturally be secondary or tertiary. To speak, the immigration of millions of Indians, Chinese and others inUK, USA will make the locals to be cautious about their own culture. Before3/4 ceturies ago, the Europeans had immigrated into many parts of the world where the kingdoms flourished. It is also an intrusion into the cultures of the then natives. Mainly, India was subjected heavily. Then there arises the acculturisation and cultural adjustment. Two cultures learnt from each other. Thus, the cultures got flourished. One cannot easily say that cultures are being destroyed by immigriations. Because, the immigrations are causative of earning money only. Most of the immigrants are going back. Meanwhile, the cultures contacted will have their own adjustment by accepting the social status of both the groups. Hence, it can be concluded easily that most of the immigrations will not destroy the local cultures unless the %immigration is more than the population of the local. IN UK and USA, I think that there is certain implicit percentage is allowed for accepting the immigrations throughout the world. It is the fortune of UK and USA to learn about the world cultures at free cost, in their local area. No need to worry about the destruction of cultures by meagre immigration. Immigration upto 40% per say will not destruct any culture. The USA culture is not native born. It born from many different cultures from 3 to 4 hundred years and merged into one, now got a fixed shape. The culture born 400 years ego need not to worry about the immigrations from India and China having more than3000 years of history in regard with culture because these two cultures only know to add some thing new to the other cultures, but never destroyed any other culture. As such, please forget about worrying about destruction of culture.

No culture, custom nor tradition is being destroyed of the host countries like the UK and the USA, due to the heavy infiltration of foreigners. What we really need to think and see is that if the host countries have maintained their culture and customs intact as it originally used to be. When the search reveals that there has been no consistency of maintaining the traditions in it's original form, the question of the host countries loosing their culture does not arise at all. On the contrary the USA and the UK have adopted other cultures or rather amalgamated their own with the other traditions, resulting in a new form which surely seems out of the place.

Yes. Most certainly. Some 250 years ago heavy migration of people from England and Europe , totally destroyed the culture, customs and traditions of the native American Indians.

Most recently heavy immigration from England into Australia destroyed the local culture of the native Austarlians.

300 years ago heavy Immigration from England into India almost destroyed the local culture. Luckily it was saved in time.In all these cases the locals could do very little .

What more , China and India are critisized for over population and for invading other countries. Please think for a moment , if all those people from England , who went to America and canada and Australia and New zealand have all to go back to England , then England will be the most populated country of the world!

in todays globalised world immigration doesnt destroy traditions, it helps countries to open up and enrich their own culture by adapting certain traditions. Nevertheless you should always try to keep your own set of traditions alive. Countries have to open up in order to keep up with globalisation otherwise they'll end up like North Korea and I suppose noone wants that to happen.

As far as i am concerned being a local living with many indian neigbours, i feel enriched by experiencing their culture, their colours, festivities etc. But I guess it's all a very personal thing. As far as the political immigration discussions go, i think it's rather nonsense. We cant close ourselves to those things or we'll lose economically and in the long run also politically.

variety is a unity in diversity. Aboriginals shy away from progressive society generally. USA, Canada are formed by migrated british and french people. Now Indians and chineses are going to those countries for jobs donot alter the native habits rathter they adopt the local culture holding on to their native habits and culture.

easily. exceedingly while the host united states does not have the prefer to hold its very own custom to be greater desirable to that of the immigrants. while a rustic has the physique of recommendations that "all cultures are dazzling and equivalent", they permit their very own custom to be destroyed, and the immigrants' custom takes over. seem at Europe-that's being overrun with Muslims, and eu custom is being destroyed. seem at our united states- we've an out of control intake of illegals right here, greater often than not from Mexico and proper united states of america of america. in lots of cities, the universal language spoken is Spanish. We bend over backwards to house non-English talking human beings. We in no way might have executed that one hundred years in the past. that's even deemed "offensive" to point that English might desire to be the expert language right here. My God, one language, how undesirable! Our united states is being run into the floor, mutually as "multiculturalism" is respected as faith. Any time there's a mass inflow from one specific united states, it grossly alters the host united states. that's the reason that's crucial to strictly administration immigration, and in no way enable too many human beings in from all of us specific united states. a brilliant team will in no way assimilate right into a society. Smaller, controlled communities will.

More gain than loss.
More varieties will make host countries' cultures more beautiful. They will become better models for an inevitable new world country.

True immigrants can help a country, because they have an intent to do so. Illegals, however, are a different story.
