how come people like Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr, Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln, Patrick Henry, Jesus Christ are viewed as role models? Instead, people worship stupid celebs like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears who probably have not done anything to deserve the title role model?

This is the situation, you have different nationalities. If you are in a long distance love relationship how do you males express love and care? and how do you as females express love and care to someone who is miles and miles away? How will your loved one feel and know that you are really serious and love "him or her" honestly? Please give examples, if you could.
Do you think the espression of one's love here in this case is culturally related and expressed? and why do you think so?
- Thanks a lot....

I was in a meeting today and a black woman was presiding over the meeting. There were 2 other African American women in the room complaining that the speaker was rude. One of the women asked why the speaker was such a ***** and the other African American lady said "it's because she's black." What in the hell did that mean? Why is that ok? If I would have said that I would have been jumped all over. PLEASE explain this extraordianary mystery to me.

Lately I've been looking through yahoo questions and a couple caught my eye. There was some stereotypic statements about black people like why are we ugly or why do we have high tempers. I think thats wrong for judging a whole entire group of people with the same color. Come on people its the 21st century can we all finally see that were all different people. All black people arent the same, all white people arent the same, all asians arent the same etc. Can we Americans just put done our judge mental first impression glances and just look at each and one of our characters? Kmon were all human beings here, nobodys better than anybody else because of the color. Does anybody feel the same way out there?

My brother and his family will have a Chinese exchange student living with them. How can we make him feel welcome, and are there any social customs, etc, that we should know about?

Please tell me why is it that even so called second generation Lebanese born and brought up in Australia cannot speak English. I met a girl (Lebanese) on Yahoo, who claims that she was born in Australia, and is a 20 year old College student, but her English is pathatic!

I can understand people holding onto their culture and values, I am all for it, but don't you think one should at least try their very best to learn the language and some of the culture of the country they are born and ultimately living in.

Mind you, I am not an Australian, and not even of European heritage. But I think people should try to assimilate into the society they live in, well at least take the best from the culture they have moved into.

Anyway, the bottom line is.... could anyone, even any other Lebanese living in Australia care to answer my question. Why aren't the Lebanese trying harder to learn the language and culture of their host country?

Ganguro literally means "blackface". LOOK AT THE TANS!! This is a fashion trend in Japan. I'm curious to KNOW how this trend got started.
