Parents please, what do I tell my child?
My child is a teenager with moderate cognitive delay. (Mental Retardation) He always wants to know what is wrong I keep telling him everyone is different. It is so difficult because he looks "normal". but after talking to him you understand why he is in a special class, I am told that he will never be on his own.
He wants to be like other kids. He talks about driving, girls, working, reading, I am an educated person. I am not dealing with this and I do not know what to tell him. Especially when the word retard is sp prevelant. He even has a personal care aid at home. He rebells and says "I can do that "then he just stands there and he is not doing it.
I have looked on-line read books for many years. I need some advice. I can not put it off. HE IS JUST above the range where he is happily unaware. He is aware but ......can you please??

why are all african-americans saying they aren't africans, it is like saying white americans aren't europeans, to me it is ridiculous. For the information, it is not americans-africans , the other around so what is up with that? Some say people of the islands aren't africans, maybe i am wrong?

Roman accounts describe the Germanic barbarians and the Celts as being "giants". Skeletal evidence shows that the average Roman soldier was 5'4, while the average northern warrior was 5'10. Even more recently, Italians and Spaniards were always thought to be short. But, official stats say that average male height in countries like Spain and Italy is 5'9-5'10, or, approximately 177 centimeters. That would mean that they are nearly as tall as northern Europeans, and just as tall as North American men. For those of you who live in Southern Europe, or who have travelled to Italy and Spain/Portugal, how tall would you say the average man was? Do the stats match realities, or are most people still very short in these countries? I would really love to know.

Sure... just go to Pakistan. Muslim law states a woman must have 4 witnesses to being raped. If not, she will be found guilty of adultery and executed. Her choice is to stay home, or not report the rape.

i hate the state of affairs in my country, there are so many attention seekers, people who would do and say any thing even bullshit, to be on radio or telly even newspaper. these includes some homoginized poloticians, some pricks belonging to unions and organasations and so on. they go out to talk even about matters that do not conrcern the mandate. what will you do ,leave the country, or get the attention aswell so that you can tell them off,or would write to their respective organasation and advice them? iam really mad about this!

Racial discrimination is always present today in 2006...What is there in somebody to make him/her beleive that he/she is superior.Not only among blacks & whites as you may expect but,as in my country, among coloured people, mainly people from Asian origins who act as if they are superior to those of African origins for example.

what i mean is should we make a big thing of it u know like the holocost or is it best to leave it. my local museum is doing a exhibition and invited us to attend to give our views of subject so thats why i ask. i tend to think discussion and acknowledgement is a good thing, but alot of people tend to want to deny that slavery has any thing to do with how we live today. as a child i really felt for the jewish people but even as a black person i felt that slavery was not something to keep going on about. It wasnt until i saw Roots that i really started to think.
