Whats it all about? Years ago we used to be fascinated & piss taking out of people in places like Africa who had great long necks with loads of rings round it & huge discs in holes in ear lobes & lips etc......Now we appear to be doing the same thing! Is that evolution?

can someone explain to me what the difference is, why one is acceptable and one is not, in your opinion is it ok for a white person to use one over the other, and if not, why?

Most people consider someone who is mixed with Black and white a Black person. Some say he or she is mixed. I hardly ever hear anyone say that he or she is white. I consider myself white when forced to choose on some kind of form, but it doesn't mean that I deny the Black part of me. Do you think the way that most of society thinks is right or fair?

A bulldagger was Black slang for a masculine lesbian. I hadn't heard the word in years until i was reading an old Chester Himes novel. In the book one of the characters mentions a club called Daggers, which the locals called Bulldaggers cuz it was a lesbian joint. It made me wonder how the term went out of the black lexicon so quickly.

I've found that is easier for the African American culture and other races of people deal better when interracial relationships then the white culture. Do you find that true as well and if so why? Or do you disagree?

I’ve been in an interracial relationship for about 8 months now. He’s Black (age 26) and I am White (age 20) . We tried to go about it the right way. He wanted to meet my mother .. so he did. Then the next couple of weeks rolled around and he wanted to take me out to dinner and a movie .. and she flipped out. So, since that night back at least 6 months ago when she denied me seeing him .. we’ve kept us hidden from my mother until a month ago when she found out that I had been hiding him and I for so long.

So, now that she knows .. she’s told the rest of my family .. so they would know and they would tell me there views .. you need to know that I live in a part of Ohio that for the most part I feel is in the middle to the excepting of the whole interracial dating thing. My whole family I know isn’t a huge fan of the idea of me dating a black guy. He’s offered to meet with them and talk to them .. but they just wont let it happen. I want them to try and except this I really do because him and I mean a lot to the other one.

So, if anyone has been in this situation that I’m in .. where there family was against there relationship because of the race of the other person .. tell me how you delt with it. Because I really feel like I’m in this place where I don’t know if I should just give in to them .. or just be like I’m happy and you guys should be happy .. that I’m not with the last *** of guy that I dated.

We all make jokes about certain groups of people. Isn't making stereotypical jokes about groups wrong? Doesn't it just encourage misinformation about certain groups? Where do you draw the line?

In the past women, minorities and other groups were discriminated against. Today discrimination still occurs against those groups, but we do realize that discrimination against those groups is wrong and we have some laws protecting them. If we now understand that discriminating against those groups is wrong, then why do we still discriminate against those groups and other groups? Sholdn't we learn from the past and not discriminate? Is it just ignorance?

I believe that all people are equal. I don't see that one race is more superior than another. But....I wasn't around when they had separate drinking fountains and etc. I was wondering what reason people had back then for discriminating (and having separate drinking fountains and etc).

I want to hear from the world out there. Can you accept an expecting parents who go for detailed ultra-sound scan on the foetus to ensure the baby is normal, and if it's not, you abort it right away? Can people really kill a life that they themselves created? Just so that what they created will not become a burden to them in future?
