A lot of women did it, it was a women's liberation thing...freeing them from bonds imposed on them by men. A good idea in theory, but keep the bras!

the bra represented male oppression and constriction to the norms of male society. Burning it was a rejection of male domination and a call for women's rights

to prove that she wasn't different from men, she could do the same job as men, womens rights to vote and all that jazz. by burning her bra ment she didnt need to wear it, as mad dont need to wear them to do their jobs or whatever it is they do.
