Oh boy. Don't get me started on the French. I love them all as individuals but as a collective group I tend to have issues with them. That is about as harsh as I can go. :-)

However, I imagine with the quote you mention he was mainly referring to the violence, bombs and killing of war always means failure. Which I think I agree to. Something failed along with line if it comes to war. I think as history has shown though as long as there are those to oppress those weaker then themselves with violence, violence is likely the only solution.

I'd love to lay into the French a little but with the web and text in general it is so hard to judge intent so I'll just leave it at that.

Hello I am french.
It drives me sad to see how most of you react to this.

Do not forget that we had two wars against the NAZI's taking place inside our own country during the last siecle and we know how it is to burst into flames and to rebuild a country after.

I am 28. My grandfather has been a prisonner in germany for 6 years during world war 2... I have also known some people that went to the camps etc... So many families are still concerned.
So many victims...

It is not a message about traditions. Not at all.

War is not so far in our minds.

What he meant was that war is never a good way to reach an objective. Because there will be losses in each side anyway.

When the only solution is a war, then you have almost failed yet.
It is a pacific message from a country that has taken a lesson from its past.
I do not like a lot this president but on this point I agree with him.

But maybe you do not really realise because in a way U had no war directly INSIDE your country.

The French are cowards. If they didn't like Iraq so much they could've just said "no" and it would've been the end of it. But they had to go behind our backs and promote anti-american propaganda and try to turn others against us.
Chirac is a coward altogether. He gives into to a MINORITY of islamic in his country and lets them riot in his streets.

So you how much the french are ******* how about we talk about what Canada did for them and how France backstabbed them.
English Canada spent tons of money rebuilding France after ww2 and helped free them. Years after that the french president thanks them by saying "VIVE LE QUEBEC LIBRE". So now English canadians have to worry about Quebec leaving which would be the end of Canda.

Anyways, end of my rant. Just want to show how awful the french have been acting.

n166@ please. The French lost more people fighting the NAZIs than anyone other than the russians. Understanding that war equals failure is not the same thing as surrender. You can find similar sentiments expressed by some of Americas greatest generals.
