Most people consider someone who is mixed with Black and white a Black person. Some say he or she is mixed. I hardly ever hear anyone say that he or she is white. I consider myself white when forced to choose on some kind of form, but it doesn't mean that I deny the Black part of me. Do you think the way that most of society thinks is right or fair?

I think this is unfair. If a person it mixed, they should be able to choose whether they are mixed or black or white, or whatever they are. They choose who they want to be. Whether society respects it or not is their problem, but you can choose what race is really you. Don't let other people tell you what to do. You choose who you are, not society. What is the world coming to? Everybody has to be one up on somebody else. Why can't we just all respect each other?

This is a very good question. I don't see why mixed race people have to choose one race or the other, but 9 times out of 10 they will still be classed as black, simply because they look more black than white, eg their hair is more like a black person's hair, their colour most times even though a little lighter is not white, so cannot be classed as white, but if you look more white than black then i could see why you would call yourself white, there is also another name that is rarely used now (mulatto).

I am mixed too and I don't think it really matters. I believe that people shouldn't have to except that they have to act a certain way, they should just be themselves regardless of there skin color. Most people just think I am part Spanish because I grew up with a lot of Spanish people, and I do have a little accent, but honestly I'm about 8% Latin and 42% white. Does that mean I have to act white? Not to me. If you be yourself society wont look at you as black, white, or mixed. They will look at you based on the way you present yourself.

Well on federal documents you are supposed to put down black. Even if you look white or maybe you grandfather was black. Just has a black person has Hispanic in his background he has to say that he is Hispanic. It's very stupid. If they must know, then I think they should have a box for mixed. Some forms do I have see it, but a lot don't. Both of my parents are mixed so what does that make me?

You shouldn't have to choose. Cast off the labels people put on you, and be what you want to be. Be all of yourself, not just a part of it.

I consider myself a mut because I have so many nationalities in my pedigree, and on top of that have been adopted into other cultures over the course of my life. I think those experiences just give me depth as a person and I would never choose one and forsake the other.

Besides, we are more similar than we are different.

We should all just interbreed until we are a single, ultimately mixed, race. That way there will be no more racism and that sorta stuff, and I'm tired of 16 year old black kids using the, "Its because I'm black isn't it? You're a racist!" excuse when I don't let them into rated R films at my job. They ALWAYS say that!

If we're all the same, they'll have no reason to say that

this can be a very solid question. i do not see why blended race human beings ought to ascertain on one race or the different, yet 9 situations out of 10 they'll nevertheless be classed as black, because they look extra black than white, eg their hair is extra like a black man or woman's hair, their color maximum situations even although a touch lighter isn't white, so won't be able to be classed as white, yet in case you seem extra white than black then i ought to ascertain why you ought to call your self white, there is also yet another call which couldn't used now (mulatto).

I think it's unfair that people are so judgmental and prejudice and so narrow minded. You are a person, and that's all that matters. To make you feel better, Mariah Carey is half white and half black and went through many of the same problems, like not belonging to one race.

I've a better question for you. Why are we concerned with race so much? Race doesn't matter when it comes to biology. Blood and organs can work between any two races. We are all the essentially the same. The differences are very minor.
