I believe that all people are equal. I don't see that one race is more superior than another. But....I wasn't around when they had separate drinking fountains and etc. I was wondering what reason people had back then for discriminating (and having separate drinking fountains and etc).

i think originally it was money. slaves were less expensive than hiring labor. to justify owning a slave, they probably had to believe that the slaves were "less" than they were. they teach that to their kids, then it goes on from there. it was basically for money. which is pretty disgusting.

you have to go all the way back to the so-called enlightenment. After Europe came out of the dark ages they began exploring the world only to discover 1)that they were way behind. and 2) that they were the only white people in the world. But above all while the began to learn more about science and genetics they observed that the genes for whiteness are recessive. Meaning that the very survival of the white race requires that they not comingle with any other race. The biggest threat the white race is the black male. because Black genes are dominant over white genes and it is the male that spreads the genetic information

B/c when white people first traveled to Africa and saw black people, they didn't know what to make of it, so the shipped them back here to use as slaves. When the black people that were slaves became free, people were still descriminatory towards them, viewing them as lesser b/c they were slaves.
Of course it's wrong, God never looks at our color, and we are all equal. But some people, like my aunt, still have those feelings b/c they grew up in the time when everything was seperate and that's how they were raised, although I don't get along with my aunt b/c of it.

Racism isn't about reason, its a direct result of ignorance. It stems from a personal feeling of superiority over ALL other people.

When you believe you're better than everyone else, then your belief must be supported by catagorizing everyone else. And the more different you are, the easier it is to categorize you.

Apparently you haven't spent any time south of the Mason-Dixon line. A lot of the discrimination is still going on down there, so if you want to see it firsthand, I would suggest a road trip to Jackson, Mississippi.

White people were scared...The same way the KKK and Skin Heads are scared and they are scared of their race dying....which is why they espically hated the black males...They believed in Social Darwinism and believe that the Anglo-Saxon Germant English desent were culturaly and racialy superior....

White were rich and looked down on people with out money. And its still that way.(Rich look down on poor) and it is that the blacks were not making money. So they had the money to buy the blacks from Africa and control them which made the whites be able to sit on there butts all day instead of working the fields and stuff.

because the whites were the sophisticated Europeans and the blacks were the african tribal savages. the thought continues today with the democratic party. bill and hillary, al and tipper, john and tereza...all the kennedys....feel they are morally superior!
that's why they always know whats best for black people

Why do you even have to ask that question. If I answered it I would get the typical hate e-mails.
