In my Morality class at my catholic High school. Our teacher asked for a show of hands of who believed Gays should adopt kids. Almost everyone raised their hands. He asked if anybody disagreed, and why. So i raised my hand, and the whole class went "NO, are you serious"?. I said gays shouldnt be able to adopt because children need a father and a mother, and a gay, no matter how femine and a Lesbian, no matter how manly cannot replace a mother or a father. at saying this, the whole class (save a couple kids) became enraged and started calling me weird names like "hatemonger" and "Bigot. The teacher, a hippy, did nothing to intervene despite the churches teaching.
Did i deserve this reatcion, was there anger justified, and does anyone share/disagree with my opinion. I want to hear from gays, straights, and catholics.

I am not sure but I think I might be a thespian.

If so how do I tell my family?
Should I place such importance of self identity and self value on such things?
If my interests in theatre does not define me as a person why do so many define themselves by their sexuality?

I'm a FTM, female to male transsexual. Before my transition, I was labeled as a "butch lesbian" and that's kinda what *I* thought I was too..so..I dated other lesbians. Since my transition, I have started seeing a kinda soft butch lesbian woman. We've been close with each other for a little over a year. We both know we love each other very much. We spend almost every day together. Her daughter is very comfortable with me. It's like we're together, but we're NOT together. She finally told me that the reason she can't be in a committed relationship with me is because she's a lesbian and I'm not. She said I go outside the "spectrum" of what she's comfortable with dating.
Keep in mind, everything else about us is pretty much a relationship. We sleep together, share our fantasies and dreams with each other, she cries on my shoulder..all that stuff.
She just won't commit because she says now I'm "too much like a guy". It hurts and I don't know what to do. Any advice?

My brother is a cross-dresser. I found out about 3 years ago. I'm 33 and my brother is 52.
He is a mans man. He's rugged and does things men do. But a few years ago he told our family that he has been doing this since he was a teenager.
He remembers trying on lipstick and mom's nylons when he was under 10. (parents caught him)
So now I'm in this world that I know pretty much nothing about. I love him very much and I accept him 100%. (When he's all dressed up he looks like he's in his 30's and gorgeous).
