Why do you care if some one of the same sex gets married? Serious question.

"more than half of all people in the united states oppose gay marriages, even though three forths are otherwise supportive of gay rights? that means than many of the same people who are even passionately in favor of gay rights oppose gay on this one issue." found this on a site... why do you think that is?

For me, it's that if you're straight and attracted to someone, you can let them know and if they don't feel the same way, it's no big deal. If their friends find out, they all have a laugh together at your expense, and that's it. But if you're gay, and the other person turns out not to be, their friends humiliate the one you were attracted to, so that your affection causes them pain. Anyway, that's the world I grew up in. Is it something different now? Or, as usual, am I alone in this experience?

why does every man have a flaw?
for example, 'he's a nice guy but too insecure, causing him to be jealous', or, 'he's really good looking but too short'.

I have been wearing womens clothes for years. Certain clubs I will go in dressed and even if I'm driving to the clubs I'm dressed.

Not long ago I was in a Borders book store here in St Louis, and the young man behind the cafe bar, whom we have seen many times, was wearing a skirt and a women's top. He had on either thigh high or panty hose with shoes that had a slight heel on them.
I asked why he decided to wear what he had on and he replied saying he enjoy being different and trying new things. AT least 90% of the comments were favorable from both male and female.

I give him credit for doing what he did and he still work there and on occasion will be cross dressed.

What are you thoughts?

Some of our religious "visitors" are claiming that "gay marriage" would destroy "the sacred commandment of marriage".

The 7th commandment states:

"Thou shalt not commit adultery" addresses the sacred nature of marital life. Chastity in familial relationships is one of the basic elements of a pure society envisioned by the Bible. Therefore, the principle of honoring one's parents is supplemented by the charge to husband and wife to protect the sanctity of family life.

The above text states that husband and wife should not commit adultery and that this couple should protect the SANCITY OF FAMILY LIFE.

It does NOT say "Sancity of Marriage" !

Therefore can it be said that a GAY MARRIED COUPLE who DO NOT commit adultery are then in fact NOT destroying the sancity of marriage or family life...and therefore the religious zealots have NOTHING to preach on this boring subject ?

I don't get it. By all means, not to sound too pretentious, I'm a great guy! I'm 20, 5'11, 210lbs, hazel eyes, brown hair. I work full time and make great money for someone my age, am very involved in several community theatre programs, and I love kids and hold fundraisers for charities that are children-based like St. Judes. All my girlfriends (friends who are girls) tell me I'm "so cute" and "adorable" and even sometimes "sexy", yet I can not seem to find a guy who concurs. I have never been in a REAL relationship, and by "real" I mean lasting longer than one week.

What am I doing wrong?

This is a question for either medical professionals or the older amongst us in the GLBT community. I do not believe anyone younger than 40 is going to know.

In the 80's before the disease HIV was known, there was a term for the symptoms that we know all too well.

Carposi Sarcoma was amongst the most common symptom remarked upon in it.

It was considered, at that time, to be a solely Gay disease and this term reflected it. This term would have been from the middle 80's. I know HIV and AIDS was used in the late 80's.

I remember something called ARDS being associated with it but that was not the term.
