This is not the only answer, but there is a biological basis for selecting a younger mate. It is not solely cultural, since this bias is there worldwide. Male and female animals value mates that can best provide for or support their seed/egg. Worldwide, women choose men who have more resources than they do (unless they're very financially stable/independent themselves) ; worldwide, men choose women who are younger, which is usually equated with her being fertile.

Also, the age of the man isn't as strong an indicator as the age of the woman. They are generally attracted to ages of 15-34, which is seen as being the most reproductively viable ages. Whether the man himself is 20 or 70, he will probably still be attracted to a 20 year old female.

This is for some men, because others like older women.

Honey, not all men are that way!!! Look at Demi Moore's guy, and all of these teacher's who are "Robbing the Cradle!!" Actually those women are making our "Gender" look bad!!! It's usually the guys who are "Pervs" not women..... But, their picking minor's to seduce, how sad is that?!!! Anyway, my sister, dated a guy who was younger than me, during the 70s!!! And at that time, it was okay, (I guess), she was like 23, and he was only 14, but they ended up getting married years later, and had a son...there devorced now, but he never did grow-up, in our book!! In fact he ended-up in prison for killing his second wife!!! YIKES!!! And boy is my sister glad he never succeeded in doing that to her!! He did "Stock" my sister, however, after their devorce was final...... And everytime we'd call the cops, for her, he'd just disappear!!! See why those "Restraining Orders" are good for nothing!!! By the time the cops get there, the guy has already either disappeared, or she's dead!!! There's plenty of guys out there, who'll date older women!! Trust me, you just need to look around a bit more, hun!!! Smile! Oh, and atleast make sure he's 18 or older, because nowadays the families get involved too much with that sort of thing, and that way you wont meet up with any "Foul Play" you know what I mean?!! Be careful...

because various of adult adult males have a difficulty with females older than them as authority figures. there's a guy the position I artwork who has a real difficulty with females being in a position over him, and him taking orders/preparation from a woman, etc. His girlfriend is 20, he's 25 (even if he received't admit it, he's whipped). per chance that has some thing to do with it. adult adult males go with to exert capacity over a woman, and it is no longer as elementary if she's older.

Guys have a subconscious, natural notion that they are on top, like "alpha males", or leaders in a sense, (as you also see in most mammals with social ladders). Therefor, going out with an older woman almost feels like stepping out of line, and placing yourself "under" her, so it makes them very uncomfortable.
