I'm straight and post on the subject of homosexuality quite often. My sis is gay and most of my friends stem from her social circle, which is primarily gay (I'm only a year younger so most of her friends ended up being mine as well) so often I do answer questions concerning homosexuality in this forum. I used to make it a point to call her a "lesbian" instead of using the generic term "gay" but one day she told me there was no need, she refers to herself as gay most of the time and she told me I was trying too hard to be politically correct. But, the other day I referred to a casual acquaintance as gay and she jumped all over me about it, telling me she was a lesbian and never to call her gay again, in no uncertain terms. Honestly, she was so nasty about it I got tears in my eyes. My sis is 51 and the person who got angry with me is 23. Can I get some opinions on this from womyn of all ages? Thanks very much.

we've all heard the expression "flattery will get you nowhere" well, long ago, I started hesitating after the "you" and finishing the sentence with "head" this is not always an appropriate ending to the line, like in front of my mom. Help me find something else to say that's funny, but less risque'

Here is the situation.. I am in a long term relationship with this guy. We've been together for 2 years now. I am miserable in this relationship and would like to end it, but we live together and I'm afraid to leave because I don’t know if I can make it on my own.

Six months into our relationship I told him I was going to have sex with a good friend of mine from high school and if he wanted he could watch but not touch. He agreed and she came over and I lost my lesbian virginity. Lol.

Over the past year and a half I have wanted less and less to do with him and now we go weeks without sex because I am not attracted to him.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm totally gay or if he just isn’t the one for me.

Please help. Serious answers only.

Most of us know you come on here because you wish you were part of us. You know like the kid in school you picked on but really liked them. If your that curious you need to go give it a try. As for Stale poot its 76 degrees in California... Take care and try to get a life on a different site.

Society has labled homosexuals as "turning gay". Gays think they are "born that way" but still no proof that DNA has anything to do with it. I am gay myself and feel that at some point in my past I made the decison to play and discover and can actually say I turned gay and wasn't born this way because I understand the choices I've made in my life and feel like I had options in the pursuit of a heterosexual role. What do you think?

You'd think that someone who so obviously hates gays and lesbians, wouldn't spend that much time on this board.
It's painfully obvious that he's trolling for more than just replies. He's trolling for dates.
This happens in many instances, some men, who feel the need to have sex with other men, put on this facade of "I hate you". Of course that facade goes hand in hand with "I DARE you to convert me". This way, they can go to bed with any number of men and claim whatever excuse is most convenient at the time.
Just admit to yourself that you're a closet homosexual and come on out! Plenty of people on this board would be willing to help you I'm certain.
But this pretend self-loathing masquerading as sanctimonious zealotry is getting old.

Recently I broke up with my ex because I was felt I was second in his life to everything else. We tried to get back together and it was excellent. The problem was that he was moving into a new home, dealing with two business, his ex and a new relationship with myself.

I ran into him about two weeks ago. We cried and he even wiped the tears from my face. We hug four times and each hug lasted more than 5 minutes. Just when I thought I had him out of my system; he calls me last night. We spoke for about 30 minutes until his cell battery went out.

He ask me to call him and indicated that what happen was just on a misunderstanding and that he wasn't trying to blow me off. I'm not sure now if he wants to be friends or want more. It's so hard and hurts so painfully to be around him and not be able touch him. I'm crying at my desk as I write this. I just thought I had bury the emotions erected from our union. Help what should I do?

People think a woman is friends with a gay man because they are one of the girls. That is not true. I like a gay man because of who he is I do not think of him as a girl. I do not think of him romatically, but not as a girl. I feel like he is a third type of friend. How do you feel about your female friends if you are a gay male? My boyfriend is great because he is secure in himself and not affraid of gay people. I currently do not know any gay people exept my mom and her partner. My other friends moved. I just want my mom to be happy.

Who do you link of your female friends as. Are they like family to you?

ORU is one of the world's largests Christian Universities, one that is know for hating GLBT's.
I starting working here through a temp agency, not know what kind of university it was. Five years later, I still work here.
My partner is extremely upset that I still work here. I don't like not being my full self at work either, but should I quit simply because the place I work for would fire me if they knew I were gay?

I met a woman I really like a lot a few weeks ago, and she is as interested as I am in pursuing a relationship. The one thing that I have reservations about is her tendency to dominate conversation. I think her profession may play a big part in it. She's a communications director for a major corporation, and much of her work involves writing press releases, giving interviews and making speeches. So, people are always asking her opinion, and she's very intelligent, well read, and articulate. Well, so am I, which is one of the main reasons we were drawn to one another. But I am getting frustrated by the fact that our "dialogues" seem to turn into monologues. Without realizing it, she can be dismissive of the thoughts and input of others. She can come across as someone who thinks there's nothing anyone can tell her that she doesn't already know, and that she knows whatever it is better than they do. I really don't think she means to be this way, but am not sure how to broach the subject.

My boyfriend cheated on me almost a year ago. It was a rough time, but we worked through it. Our relationship is strong. However, he is still friends with the guy he cheated with.

They work together. This guy is in the same social circle as my boyfriend. They still talk over AIM. They go out to lunch together. They've traveled for business togehter and hung out while away for those two weeks. They talk on the phone. They TM each other. We've all gone out with them together. At parties, my boyfriend talks to him more than he does other people because this guy doesn't have as many friends and isn't the most outgoing.

I don't believe my boyfriend would cheat on me again. Every time I see them together, my boyfriend brings him up, or any other interaction involving him, I picture the two of them in my mind. It seriously bothers me.

My boyfriend and I have moved on from this situation. I trust him. I hate that this goes through my mind, but it does, almost without fail.

Why the efeminate voices, its put on isn't it?, noone talks like that, i've heard gays guys slip into normal voices when they are relaxed! confuses me, and if you are so into men, why do SOME gays act like women, i thought women weren't attractive, same with SOME lesbians why do SOME dress like men if thereare only into women.

Please no ranting i am purely posing a question and not saying anything bad about you as people, maybe others may wonder these things so now is a good time to just give us un-aware-of-gay-people abit of insight,
sorry if my tone appears rude, i was never any good at english!

Most religions teach us that homosexuality is wrong. Do you believe that is it society which makes us think it's okay, and is making people confused about their faith?

I don't understand where the anger is coming from. If someone doesn't want to be gay anymore, that is their choice, isn't it? Just like the gay people demand respect for their choices. I don't understand why they don't want anyone to change to being straight.

And what is this rant I keep hearing "there is no scientific evidence to prove that a person can stop being gay". Who needs scientific evidence? Isn't the opinion of the gay person who stops being gay only opinion that matters?

I seem to remember seeing a documentary that both gay rights and abortion weren't really political issues on which either party has an opinion until the early 1980's, when Jerry Falwell stood up to condemn the homosexual lifestyle as against God. Any thoughts? Can anyone confirm this?
