Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender - July 2006

I'm doing this research for my psychology class and I want to know what is the difference between homosexuals (gay and lesbians) and transgenders? Are Male-to-female transgenders attracted to males just like gay people do? And are Female-to-male transgenders attracted to females just like lesbians do?

Just a personal curiosity...I'm a girl and I really feel attracted to Drag Queens...I don't know, maybe I've just seen 'Priscilla Queen Of The Desert' (Anybody else loves that movie, by the way?) too many times..but does that make me a lesbian, or a gay guy, or justa weird girl? no one knows i am gay.. and people treat gays like criminals or terrorists.. they don't understand that people don't choose to be gay... it's just who i am..i don't choose to feel attracted to the same sex.. i have no control over this.. i think it is a sickness which cannot be cured unfortunately.. i don't know what to do.. to tell my parents, friends? my life will be over.. they all will hate me.. to try seek asylum or immigrate to a civil country? i don't know.. live my whole life like this, hiding and acting? it's a nightmare... by the way, can i apply for a political asylum in the U.S.? would you h elp me to move? if i get a citizenship in a civil country i will at least be able to escape prosecutions and be able to tell everyone who i am... i don't know... i feel so lonely.. maybe i just should kill myself and all problems will be resolved..

I have had one experience with a woman, but now am involved in monogamous relationship with a man that I love dearly. Some FTMs are attracted to gay men, but after some types of sex reassignment surgery, they still don't "measure up." Have been a hairdresser for 31 years, off and on.
I'm tired of standing there all day touching other peoples heads.
I am so done with it.

Have always thought I would rather look like Endora, than Uncle Fester, when I got older. I'm getting older now. It's time to look into this seriously.

Drag would be fun and interesting, to say the least.
I would only do it professionally.
I am happy being a man.

I would like my female character to have a very classy persona. Not tacky drag.

I am so ticked off by a letter in the Woodstock Sentinel (Ontario, Canada) written by a woman named C. Gwendolyn Landolt who is VP of a "family" organization in Canada, that I want to compose a really scathing letter to correct some of her more blatant generalizations re Gay Marriage. I'm very pregnant right now so can't get out to do research, so I'm counting on you to help me discredit her "logic."

"Facts" in her letter include:

Gays don't believe in monogamy;
Average gay union lasts ony two years;
Same sex partners experience a higher rate of health problems & have shorter lifespans;
Being raised by two same-sex parents has a detrimental effect on children;

And, perhaps most absurd - since the Netherlands legalized gay marriage in 1997, their out-of-wedlock birthrate has increased by more than 2% per year. (How she blames this on gay marriage is not clear.) For more details contact me at lacticrat@yahoo.com. Thank you all!

i have a boyfriend
i got to know this girl who i really enjoy being with i find we have alot of similar interests click very well..
i have always had problem not about being les or bi or watever..but trying to suppress the feelings..i know the general advise is to accept n come out of the closet.. but well one needs to tink about parents, my current bf..the other frns..as well as the rest of your life..sometimes society can be cruel and well i'd rather not go down that path..really..
