In another answer, a guy named Dustin said it is legal for homosexuals to get married in all 50 states. This is true only if they don't marry each other! The reader who said that only Massachusetts allows gay marriage was right. And the courts in Massachusetts have now allowed that only Massachusetts residents should be married under this law, as an old part of the Mass constitution says that people may not do things in Mass that they couldn't do in their home state.

Just this week there was a court challenge of the law in Florida which prohibits same sex marriage and the courts upheld that law. As of now, no gay marriage in Florida. Florida is also the only state in the Union to completely outlaw adoption by gay persons.

There are no same-sex marriage laws in Florida. Same-sex marriage is legal only in Massachusetts, with Civil Unions being recognized in Vermont.

It is legal for homosexuals to get married in all 50 states. It just won't be recognized as equal to a straight marriage by the government in most states.
