As a huge fan of college footballl, I've been answering quite a few questions about teams and interesting games in the Sports section.
Debates get pretty heated sometimes and in an effort to insult one another's teams, many people make blanket statements about where the fan or school is located. I've noticed a lot of cheap shots being taken at Southerners in particular.
I was wondering if any of you have noticed (or personally been involved in) incidents where people from Northern or Southern states were at odds because of where they live?
If you live "up North" or "down South", do you treat people differently if they don't speak like you? (whether intentionally or subconsciously) Have you noticed people in your town or city treating others differently?
Just curious. Thanks for the responses!

I always remember my childhood Christmases as being WHITE! We had loads of snow, it was cold, frosty, sunny and seasonal. What are your memories of UK Christmases?
Rest of World, you are not frozen (Lol!) out of this Q.

My grandfather was a fruit peddler in Melrose Park Illinois. Anyone happen to be from Melrose and remember him? I can remember stories Grandma told of when he "got modern" and got rid of his cart, he purchased an old school bus, took out the seats and put in wooden shelves with bins. I got to go to the Water Street Market with him in Chicago and tag along as he bought his fresh fruits and vegetables.

I remember the "banana man". He was black and he always gave me a banana.

They see a young lady go into a little room, the doors close. A minute later a sexy senior citizen walks out. What must go through the mind of a child?

AT&T announced they will be removing all pay phones soon.

Even though I have not used one in about 5 years, I am a little sad to see them go.

Picture it: You have your 5 year old grandchild with you and you see a pay phone and she's like "Grandma what is that thing?"

OK, please just do this ONE time & hopefully you will come away with a bit of understanding…

I want you to sit back in your computer chair, close your eyes, & picture yourself having intimate relations with someone of your sex.

Really picture it…

Now open your eyes & think about how it made you feel…

Let me guess… It felt wrong… It leaves you feeling ‘icky’… It makes you feel like you need a shower…

It feels as if it goes against every instinct in your body & mind, right?

I understand this reaction.

I understand how you feel because it is exactly how I feel when I picture being intimate with a person of the opposite sex. It feels 100%, flat out WRONG.

Just like you, there is no way that anything can change my mind about this…

I understand that I could stand in front of you 24/7 giving you arguments about how you need to change your mind & that it would do not a bit of good.

I Everybody has some sort of Obsessive/compulsive thing that they do, whether its about the way your hair looks, or washing each dish as it gets dirty, or handwashing, or something we are really really fussy about, and you get anxious about if it isn't done right. What's yours? One of mine might be making the bed every morning, come hell or high water. It throws my whole day off if I don't get it done, and I can't wait to get back to do it.

I intensely dislike putting things away. I do it because I have to, and I hate having the house cluttered, but if i could get a robot to just follow me around and put things away for me, I would be a happy camper!
