I have collected quotes and poems for many years.

I have two that are equally important to me that I have framed for all to see.

“ If you don’t know where your going.
Any road will take you there.”
George Harrison

“Never mistake knowledge for wisdom, one helps you make a living,
the other helps you make a life.”
James Oppenheim

My daughter gave me a new on that is kind of a fun quote, that you might enjoy.

“Be your own best friend and don’t forget to wink at yourself now and then.”
Diane von Furstenburg

Since she gave it to me, every time I look in the mirror, I wink at myself and have a private little chuckle.

I have a close relative that is a well educated professor and thinks he is, "Thee knowledge Guru."

I framed the James Oppenheim quote, hoping he would read it and allow me the credit due for my wisdom.

I am educated but I'm not a professor.

George Harrison's quote is for my grandchildren to read and we have had son enlightening conversations. It works.

I have also shared them many times on answers.

Thanks.

I love the one from Forrest Gump, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

I use "It ain't over til the fat lady sings" pretty often, bearing in mind that I'm a fat lady and kinda bossy too. LOL

To Conan: What is good in life?
Conan the Barbarian: Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!

Now that's a philosophy to build your life around!

Either that or my fav. quotation from Star Trek (itself ripped from Melville's Moby Dick)

Khan "Revenge is a dish best served cold" but I better not give examples of how this quotation has changed my life as it might lead to incarceration!

Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
Sir Winston Churchill, Speech, 1941, Harrow School

I've never used this one but my first husband used it one (not on me) and I cracked up.

quote: It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
