...does anyone else skim or just skip over questions/answers that are really long or Q&A's that turn out to be just long jokes/stories?

Gay guys are typically, stereotype or not, effiminate. I do realize that there masculine gay guys as well, but a whole bunch of them are naturally effiminate. I bet you can't find a straight guy who naturally would shriek like a woman and wave their hands ever so girlishly as they say, "FABULOUS", like you commonly see among gay guys. (No offense v^^v)

Now the question is, how about bi-sexual men? Are they just like normal straight guys (in general)? Since bi-men also want to attract women, I'm kinda under the impression that bi-men would be rather masculine. But I honestly don't know cause I've never met one. Are there bi-men out there who naturally act out as effiminate as gay guys do? I'm not being judgemental in anyway and genuenly want to know. I'm personally attracted to masuline men, but I've not had the luck of meeting a masculine gay guy. So I'm considering bi-sexual men instead. But if bi-sexual men are also effeminate, I would be wasting my time so.....

I would enjoy musing all day about how life was so much better when we were kids . . . I read just now that children have an average of £1,720 worth of toys !! . . . what happened to imagination, a cardboard box, a tree to climb (and fall out of), a den to build, cuts to the elbows and knees to be proud of, and a good old fashioned family Sunday lunch.

It's my Father.
Ever since I can remember he's been very manipulating and when he doesn't get his own way becomes abusive emotionally either directly and/or indirectly.
Throughout the yrs. I've TRIED to make this relationship work/it's just way too long of a story to post here.

Ultimately he seems to put a price on his relationships w/his daughters [me inc.] and I'm sick and damn tired of it because this is NOT what life is supposed to be about.
Now he's all mad because he realizes that he has no power over me concerning money anymore [he was always dangling carrots in my face and constantly speaking of his will]
I told him all I wanted was "TIME" [to spend w/him]
However it has always been us going to visit him, then he never keeps his word about visiting me,unless of course I were in the hospital [when I had surgery]

He's mad at me because of this he says he's not giving out Christmas gifts this year. FINE WITH ME!
HOWEVER he'sTAKING IT OUT ON MY SISTERS TOO!
not good!

"After a While"

"After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company isn't security.
You learn that Kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises.

After awhile you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up high
with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain
And things have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you ask to much of it.

So, you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that your really are strong,
That you really can endure,
That you really do have worth.
And you learn
And you Learn
With every good-bye you learn

No I don't think I could do the threesome thing with my husband but more interested in just myself with another woman. Should I just get this out my head since I'm already married or is it not really cheating since it's just another girl.

Idioms.

While idioms are more a function of culture than language I feel it was appropriate to address the issue in the lesson

Note: Idioms are not to be confused with slang.

examples:

kick rocks = telling somebody to leave.
beat that [p..ssy] up = to have pasionate sex
ride or die = to be loyal (not an ultimatum)
put it in the air = to smoke a blunt

What distinguishes idioms from slang is that an idiom uses ordinary words often in a metaphorical or allegorical context. Whereas slang involves the uses of an original word.

ex. words like krunk, diss (insult), chickenhead, ect are slang because they are not part of the standard english lexicon. - as opposed to referring to a car as a whip; which is part metaphor and part synecdoche (a whip is what the steering wheel was called when automobiles were first invented)

can you name some other common idoms used in black vernacular english?

I had jury duty and put my purse through the x-ray machine at the courthouse. On the way home I needed a scissors from my Swiss Army Knife, and it was still in my purse.

My husband got on an airplane after the security check, with a fire cracker in his pocket. It was the 4th of July week.

But I found another way to do the same thing with my laptop. Every picture on my hard drive shuffles, fades and appears for about 5 seconds each. The slide show starts after a period of idle time.

Go to your CONTROL PANEL
Click APPEARANCE & THEMES
Then DISPLAY
Then SCREEN SAVER
Under Screen Saver click on the other SCREEN SAVER
Under that click MY PICTURE SLIDE SHOW
Go through the rest of the buttons WAIT 5 (seconds)
Go into MY PICTURES SCREEN SAVER OPTIONS
You want it to fill the screen LARGER 100%
Check box USE TRANSITION
Check box ALLOW SCROLLING
Fill in the other boxes and SAVE!

I hope that satisfies your need, if Santa doesn't bring you a digital picture frame!

I keep seeing these threats from those that "think" they have a right to property in the Southwest.

I think they are empty threats.

Your thoughts?

i understand what you all have said. but why did he tell his other bestfriend and not me. and if it is because i dont agree with it then why do they talk in code in front of my face. i kinda knew that this is what the secret was but i wasnt positive. yes i know it was a guy. the text was from a person with a guys name. its just irritating. and every since this started we have spent less time together and have been somewhat falling apart. we only get together to do homework now. i dont know how to act around him now that i know. he is going to be at my house in less than 2 hours and i dont know what to say to him. he knows i will accept him for it. we have been friends for so long. he should know that. how do i act in front of him.

So my bf and I "parted" ways (3 weeks ago). It was done without any malice; however, he started talking to me again. I know that we probably wont get back but how do I get rid of my feelings for him? I still stare at pics of him (sad I know), but how do I get over him? Thanks in advance.

As a black person, I think Al Sharpton is the biggest two faced racist Ive ever seen. He wants to monitor Don Imus, but the loser cant even single out some of the gansta rappers like 50 cent who are worse. He doesnt speak for the majority of the Black race. And that goes for those so called wanna be New Black Panthers.
