I would enjoy musing all day about how life was so much better when we were kids . . . I read just now that children have an average of £1,720 worth of toys !! . . . what happened to imagination, a cardboard box, a tree to climb (and fall out of), a den to build, cuts to the elbows and knees to be proud of, and a good old fashioned family Sunday lunch.

That would be the fault of the PC Brigade - Not allowed to cut trees down to make a den coz it endangers the environment - can't use boxes to make toys coz you have to recycle - not allowed contact sports in school, so no cuts and bumps and bruises - so they also don't play them in the streets or at the local park.

Imagination went out of the window with the advent of games consoles and computers -

As for the good old traditional sunday lunch - that went the way of the dinosaur when the government allowed Sunday Store Opening - people are now at work more often than not.

Totally agree, I'd spend all day on that section moaning about wheely bins, BMW drivers, kids screaming in the street, the price of petrol, ready meals, teddy bears, Sky TV, rap music,
smoking, foreign manned call centres, lager drinkers, Butlins holidays, Chavs, Man Utd supporters, MP's, Golf, mobile phones, China, TV presenters, the state of the NHS, public transport, fat people etc etc

When can we start?

This is gone by the weigh side. Sad really.
My mother called the other day, told me she really can not afford Christmas presents for the boys this year. I told her do not worry about it, I just said to send a card to them.
Our boys know money does not grow on tree's, in fact the youngest brought home a tree branch he was playing with. I just told him take it back outside lol!

How about a old farts club here in yahoo? Though of course I am not old.....lol

Winge away!!

I do not like the society that I am becoming a part of, ... as I grow into being married, moved away from my family, I miss the family lunches, the trees, the small town lifestyle ...

Maybe I should do something about that :)
