I don't like having jokes where questions should be, if I wanted to read jokes I would go to the section. I have found some very interesting things by reading a long one, after all you all know that some times it can't be explained in two words or less.

Yes I do skim a lot! I find I am quite disappointed when I think I am answering a bona fida Q only to find it's a joke!
We have a joke and riddle section, which is where I think jokes should be, but I do enjoy a good laugh so I let it go.

I skip if it's a really long joke or story unless it's of particular interest to me. An interesting grab line pulls me in to consider answering the question.
Have a good day. juju

Since sometimes I tend to be wordy myself I usually read them all. unless it happens to be a whole thing somebody cliped and pasted that is 3 pages long, lol! Just the link would have been better!
I think of Seniors as just being a fun, casual place, and a joke or two fits right in with the atmophere in here. If you want serious questions?!!!, just go to one of the other catagories.

Some long answers I start to read and if they are not saying much I go on to the next.
I don't read all jokes or stories. But most of the time I do enjoy the ones I read.

I skip most of the long stories too. But I'll read the jokes if they're from Fisherman or Siddhartha and some others.
The worst are those answers that are long cut and paste jobs from Wiki-P.

I don't usually read jokes.
I might read a lengthly thingie if it was of interest to me but basically, I don't. A lot depends upon the author. If he/she has used proper English with punctuation and decent grammar, I might but won't bother with those who just ramble on with no capitalization, punctuation or those who use stupid "text messaging" abbreviations.
I have a love affair with the written word and enjoy a good story or other point of view..but prefer a flowing story that can be read without having to translate. HA!

No it's not Just U... It depends on how we are feeling each day how we select our questions to answer. Some days are better than others... Today, I'm skimming!

I get bored with long ones. Especially when the writer has no concept of sentences and paragraphs. All one long (very long) runon sentence. *yawn* So I don't finish reading those.
Jokes are irritating, too. Especially off color ones.
