I can recall participating in BBS back in the day, before the true 'internet' as such got going.
These bulletin board systems, back in the 80s required you to dial into a number with your modem, and then you could post messages, ask questions, etc.
From what I recall, most of the bulletin boards discussed sex, movies, music, and general philosophical rantings.
Actually, come to think of it, they were pretty darned similar to Yahoo!Answers in a lot of ways. Although we didn't get points.

Why is it that people think our minds change somehow? I still expect when I look in the mirror to see me as a youngster, it amazes me when I'm not! The only thing different is the times! We would have talked about what was going on in those times, not microwaves, cell phones, computers, downloading music... etc...

I'd chat about the same things I do now!...?????????
I don't download music....have my own at home...
If Y!A's other categories were as much a vast wasteland as it is now and I were not a senior, I'd STILL hang out here! :-)
