I will cook a nice supper, we will watch TV in different rooms, since we don't like the same shows, I will watch the ball drop and start 5 minutes before midnite, since all the shows are geared for young people, and cry a little when they play Auld Lang Syne for yrs gone by too fast, kiss my hubby and we'll go nite nite, hows that for exciting?

I have never gone out much on New Year's Eve, too many amateur drunks out there, lol! My idea of a great New Years eve is to be at home with a good movie, popcorn and drinks, and when it's midnight, to watch the ball come down in Times Square and toast each other with champagne and share the traditional New Year's kiss. Of course we have to do this in each time zone, lol!

Music gig here too...
I don't remember the last New Years Eve I was off... was probably 30 years ago!
I get double or triple scale and don't spend anything ...pays the mortgage for January.
As Ed said, there are 364 other nights to get yer' freak on... and nobody says I have to go right to sleep when I get home.
peace

For the 3rd year in a row I get stuck throwing the New Year's Eve party at the Assisted Living where I work....yikes!
ah, KaraJ....for many years I, too, played in a band and got to spend New Year's Eve at a gig with my best friends, making music....

I have never enjoyed new years eve. We went to a party every new years eve when we were young.
Getting drunk and blowing little horns was never my idea of a good time.
I am happier staying home, breaking out the goodies, and watching a few good movies.

the last 2 years we have stayed home, watch movies and relax.......before that we always went to see a play/show and enjoyed the night that way, but it is about an hour drive and we would get so tired and with all the crazy people on the road, we now do the play in December before Christmas and stay home New Years Eve.......
We enjoy it being home......keeps us out of trouble........hahaha

Maybe it's better that you don't go out, with all the drunk drivers on the road. I think a lot of people will be staying in that night, are they losers as well? would you be going out with someone or your friends, are they staying in and are they losers? I guess you have to do whats best, just be careful ;) happy new year

I just sit at home. I learned many years ago not to drink and drive. I would rather sit home in my comfy clothes anyway. I always share a midnight toast with my dog (husband is always asleep). She gets about a tablespoon of wine in her bowl and we toast the new year. That's her alcohol limit for the year.
