Im white so im normal. I just wanted to know what all blacks are like in the south. One came up to me with a southern accent and i couldn't understand what it was saying. Are they all like this?

As a mixed white American, or mutt, I witness in this society a broad range of cultural identities among minorities. It is common to hear about the Black, or Hispanic, or Asian communities in my city. Knowing friends that belong to each of these communities they feel they are connected and strengthened by this connection. They are also concerned about specific issues concerning their community. But what about me? As a white man I feel I am lacking any identity at all. What are the options for cultural identity of a thoughtful white male in a mixed society. I don't like the show Friends, I don't exploit people economically, I don't like Nascar and country music but people of other ethnic communities have historically not accepted me as being as down for the cause of true social equality and brotherly love and understanding, which in my heart I truly am! What can a mutt do?

I am from Northern Louisiana and people always say that I look as if I am "black creole." Now, I am by no means light skinned, but people have always asked me that. From my understanding, I thought that a creole person was light with wavy hair etc and most of these people reside in Southern Louisiana. So, my question is, what exactly is a black creole. I have searched all of the net and still have not been able to find answers to this. All opinions are welcomed.

It's interesting to me that people who are against romantic interracial relationships never seem to be as passionate about their beliefs when they are talking about White/German, Hispanic/White, Italian/White, White/Japanese or any other combination where the skin colors are very close in skin tone.

However, whenever there is a Black/White couple involved they seem to really protest, whether it is a White girl with Black guy or Black girl with White guy.

My question is why do most people seem to protest this combination so much if both people are really happy in the relationship?

The excuse that most people will use is that their kids will have problems and be discriminated against if they ever have any but I always want to ask them how many interracial kids have they talked to who have complained about not being well adjusted. In most cases I'm sure that not too many have.
Any way, why do most Americans make sure a big deal out of the White/Black romantic relationship?

I have used his poems to teach English to ESL students, its very interesting seeing them trying to figure out the "meaning" in the poem - my favourites are Mending Wall and The Road Not Taken. A time to Talk, A Passing Glimpse there are so many good ones.

Here are some great tales from where I live. About 12 years ago an old man in a nursing home here in town called a taxi and escaped with his walker--had the driver take him to a bank and went in and demanded $50.00--got it and went back to his taxi--had the driver take him to his old favorite pub and was on his second drink when the police came to get him--the cops took up fund and paid back the bank and no charges were filed. In 2003 our airport was overhauled and updated, lots of oohs and asaas on the new security. Seems some elderly lady rented a big van drove right thru the motion sensor doors and thru the terminal to the rental agency to return the van without running over anyone in the terminal. Their solution was to put big flower pots in the front of the doors outside. Tell me your good ones???

They have Colombus day,and they have the Land Run of Oklahoma day, but i didnt run on that day, because i said that it was wrong, but there is no Native American day, they should have a day of celebrating of Sitting Bull's birthday, or the Choctaw Code talkers, but why dont they?

Like seriously everybody in the united states are racist. wether its blacks against white or mexicans against white. Whatever it is its wrong.

When I went to europe nobody judged me by the way I looked or talked. I was there to play soccer and I made some great friends.

There was black people, white people, dutch, mexican, and we all got along, so why is it so hard for people here to get along. We were all created equal by the same person and all it is is that we look and talk diffrent. We all live, breath, shed blood, have friends, someone who loves us, someone to talk to.
WHY CANT WE ALL GET ALONG???
