A few years back I got together with a bunch at a donut shop near UNLV. We even had a name for our group: Romeos, for Retired Old Men Eating Out.

In our small southern town, all the guys from 40 up have coffee at one of the two or three little cafes in town. I don't know how that will work when Tennessee bans smoking in public places. OOPPPSSSS!!!
DINK...I hope you change your opinion on older men before you get there or you won't be able to stand yourself. I'm having a hard time liking you already. You might give the old guys a chance; I think you'd find a lot of wisdom under that white hair. They've paid their dues to our country and deserve all the respect in the world. But, hey...there's still hope for you ...if you ever mature.

I don't get together with any other old men because old men are a pain in the butt. Within one session with some old duffer you've heard all his "war" stories and the next session you get them again, usually an "enhanced" version with the teller sounding more heroic than last time. In addition, most old men come across as being much more successful than they actually were. They seem to forget that you knew them when they were younger.
But the thing that really gets me about old men is their failure to whack out the forest of nasal hair and ear hair that threatens to take over not only their don't-have-a-clue head but the entire community as well. God! It's disgusting.

No. We aren't coffee drinkers but we get together everyday for cards. We shop together at Wal-Mart. Check out the purchases to see who bought chocolate or shoes. Also shop Target.

I hate coffee but I do get together with friends often, they pay then I pay for the next one, it keeps us in touch because nobody remembers who is getting a free lunch.
