About 5 years ago, due to personal reasons, my life completely fell apart. I lost the majority of my friends, my self-confidence, and my self-respect as a result. I struggle with anger, depression, anxiety, and mood swings. I used to self-mutilate a lot to relieve stress, but I have trained myself away from doing that so I do not do that anymore. But, I was bad enough it was to that point. I have been on medicine and I have been to counseling - neither really helped much. I spend alot of my time alone, questioning if God is real and if He is real, how allowed my life to fall to pieces and how He can ignore my prayers for things to get better. I seem to be stuck in a cycle of bad thinking that I cannot seem to get out of.

I don't want to be like that anymore. I want to learn to let go of the past, make new friends, and learn to go with the flow and let good things happen to me. I want to rekindle my relationship with God. Any advice for making 2008 the best year ever??

When you pray, is it the Name you call your God that determines who hears your prayers, or is it what is in your heart and your understanding of that God? So what is more important, the Name, or what we understand to be the character of our God?

This question is a follow up to my two concurrent questions;

When does forgiveness become permission to re-offend? When does demanding accountability for someone's actions become unforgiveness?

Please write your denomination or nondenomination.

After Jesus gave up the Ghost, the veil of the temple rent from top to bottom. And there was earthquakes & rocks broke & the graves were opened & many bodies of the Saints (OT) who slept arose. They came out of their graves after His resurrection & wento into the Holy City & appeared to many.

I first ask Mormons because they think they have to baptize for the dead (those who were never water baptized), including the OT Saints to save them.

Why is it that the latin vulgate bibles, differ much in Genesis, about the seed of the woman that crushes the head of the serpent. Every other bible identifies this as a man (Jesus)
but not so the catholic bible, compare:

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible

I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

Genesis 3:15 (King James Version)

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel

Genesis 3:15 (New International Version)

And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

Genesis 3:15 (New American Standard Bible)

And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel."

Trust me, I have nothing against emos in general, but is it all an act when they frown and say "You don't understand"? I want them to try and make me understand when they say this. I think it's all an act, just like chavs when they walk in town looking as though they have stones in their trainers to try and look cool, when really they just look disabled (sorry if offended) Most emos put their heads down and scurry away when I question them. Some will even say that I'm just looking for attention, but when I remind them that they are the ones dressing for a public reaction and attention, they shut up. All talk no action. I enjoy listening to what most emos listen to e.g. Heavy and Death Metal, but I don't run around dressed like Maralin Manson. It's just a fashion isn't it? nothing more. If the type of emo who slits their wrists, dresses in all black and is reading this thinking "but you don't understand", well make me understand please.

When someone like Mother Theresa or Desmond Tutu pray to Jesus, are they really praying to the same Jesus as someone like Pat Robertson or Fred Phelps? Or is it two entirely different entities who answer those prayers? -- one a being of Love, the other a being of Hate?

I left Christianity a year ago (meaning that I don't believe in your Jesus and Holy Spirit) but I still believe in God.

In your eyes, who is this God that I believe in? Is he your God too? I'm just curious about what you think.

Okay so I have a question.
I am a Catholic, and in the Christian religion we believe
that Jesus Christ is the messiah. However, I also know that
Judaism teaches that Jesus was only a prophet, and that the messiah has not yet come.

I know that Hinduism doesn't even recognize
Jesus at all, and neither does Islam.

So what I'm asking is, how can we all be right?
If Judaism were correct, that would mean Christianity is incorrect. And if Christianity were correct, that would mean Judaism is incorrect. I just can't bring myself to think that other religions are "wrong". I have just been taught that they are different. But ONE OF US has to be wrong! We cannot all be factually correct!

How can we explain this?

Could it be that Gandhi, a Hindu, and Mother Theresa, a Catholic, were worshiping the same God of love and compassion?

Could it be that Fred Phelps, a Christian, and Osama Bin Laden, a Muslim, are worshiping the same God of hate and intolerance?

As per Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, who said this is according to "The Qur'aan, Sunnah and ijmaa (scholarly consensus)", Al-Tirmidhi, Imaam Ibn Abd al-Barr.

Have a nice day.
