The example name you give is Roman Catholic. Right Reverend Monsignor [Name] [Name] Vicarius Generali, or Vicar General, Masters of Theology.

Of course you MUST be a man and never married.

A Protestant might have a Doctrate of Divinity but would post his name as Reverrend [Name] [Name]

And some churches sell diplomas for as little as $7.99 / month.

I was once in a seminary and I must say being celibate is a catholic practice. I was in the Anglican tradition we are aloud to get married. Plus the modern Anglican churches even allow women to be priest .Today of course some still practice the old traditions which can be gloomy. Never heard about attending a university before entering the seminary. You can go to a university and earn psychology and business degrees while you are studying to become a priest that is big now these days. As far as titles you first start out as a Deacon you can not just become a priest. There are many studies and rituals you have to get threw first.Plus if someone does not have a high school diploma then they are very limited in their abilities as a priest.

Last I heard (things are always changing) to be a Catholic priest, you must get a undergraduate degree in philosophy as a minor seminarian. At the major seminary theology is studied, along with a number of other subjects. If you are of average intelligence, you should have no difficulty with the subject matter. They are more interested in your humility and dedication to the virtuous life.

Most orders require it, but its not a law- it is up to each order to decide that.
