the prophet was doing whatever was accepted tradition during his lifetime and that was keeping a beard.

Many peoples of other religions at that time had beards, too.

Quoting majeed:

"it simply means that a Muslim is not following the ways of his Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). He is instead following the ways of Nnn-Muslims. "

The prophet did not ask to model him and follow his ways on matters related to the immediate envorinment needs and time-related social behavior.Would he expect you to ride a camel to go to Hajj or to New york ? Would you be considered not following his ways if you ride a US-made car ? come on !

I read about Koran, islam and other beliefs;from my knowledge so far islam is based on Koran, not what
some quoted religious figure said;it is those kinda individual interventions that twisted the bible and sometimes discredit Koran as well.
shaving is a social behavior and a matter of immediate environment,i dont know if they had affordable shaving means at that time, but sounds some muslims were so enthusiastic about their religion at that time, they tried to personalize it to their own environment and ways.
i dont think it is reasonable that they should make it a general rule or a tenet of islam,am sure it is only their close-minded views due to the closed Saharian environment and lack of interaction with other cultures.

Islamophobia is the fear and/or hatred of Islam, Muslims or Islamic culture. Islamophobia can be characterised by the belief that all or most Muslims are religious fanatics, have violent tendencies towards non-Muslims, and reject as directly opposed to Islam such concepts as equality, tolerance, and democracy.

It is viewed as a new form of racism whereby Muslims, an ethno-religious group, not a race, are nevertheless constructed as a race.

A set of negative assumptions are made of the entire group to the detriment of members of that group.

During the 1990's many sociologists and cultural analysts observed a shift in forms of prejudice from ones based on skin colour to ones based on notions of cultural superiority and otherness.
