If it is suppose to be Jesus birthday (which its not)
shouldn't people be giving Jesus gifts not each other or at least gifts to further the preaching of the gospel?

The question is simple, is it possible to “sense” or “for-tell” events before they happen?

Yes, I'm a Christian. But I don't understand this. WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE???

Drunk driver killed my little brother 3 weeks ago. Best young Christian I knew. Baptized in 4th grade, led worship in church (no voice change yet). Baby faced little blond kid, pale unblemished face, twinkly blue eyes, 13 but looks 11, captained 7th grade boys basketball team. Beautiful kid. He invited new students to sit with him during lunch and was always generous with his time and money when it came to charity. He gave 75 dollars to Hurricane Katrina fundraiser and couldn't buy something he wanted, but that was fine with him. I remember this one time when we were doing inner city missions last Christmas, and he gave his jacket and socks to this sick old lady and they prayed together and she was healed. The Bible was open on his lap in the hospital when he died.

It just doesn't seem fair. Think of all that Simon will miss out on in this life.

Well, I was surfing the web and I somehow came across this quote: "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God."

I find this interesting. According to this biblical quote, we should regard our body as a holy vessel of God. Our body is compared to a temple for the Holy Spirit.

Now, I've been hearing nearly my whole life that the body is full of sin and is of this Earth. According to the preachers through many sermons, the body is not pure, clean, etc.

That quote that I mentioned before is the total contradiction of what I've been taught. You can't say that the body is a temple for the Holy Spirit yet it's sinful and not pure at all.

Which is right?

I'm writing a paper on evolution for my english class, and according to my research, creationists believe the world was created about 10,000 years ago, while evolutionists believe it's been around for millions of years. My question is (for any Bible-buffs out there), does it actually say in the Bible that God created Earth 10,000 years ago? I've only read that it says God created Earth 'in the beginning'. If it actually states a specific amount of years, I would really love to know, because a vital part of my argument rests on this point. Thanks a lot

If so, you need to acknowledge that he said that a very wise being created everything, it was no accident of some explosion (which destroys, not creates). Basically, Einstein was a believer, not a scientist that believed in the big bang theory.

I live in a universtiy town where many are highly educated. I have noticed that this doesn't necesarily make a person intelligent or wise...

I have also noticed that some who are highly intelligent lack emotional intelligence and common sense...

When I speak of wisdom, I mean a knowledge that comes from both the head, heart and experience. Atheists are always speaking about intelligence as if it is their holy grail, the only thing that matters.

My question: is it better to be intelligent or wise? Does it serve humanity more to know rocket science or to know how to love?

...a black person white (or vice versa); so why try and make a non-believer a believer? Why not just let others be? Maybe they're happy as they are?

I can't quite wrap my mind around the concept of having existed forever past, based on the mathematical principles of infinity.

If this God has existed for an infinite amount of time, then there would therefore have to be an infinite amount of time before an event would occur, and would thereby never happen.

Here's a visual aid for my question

Without a start before what something had not existed (i.e. the God then being created, after which he could do things), how could anything happen, for there would be infinity before something could happen.

Do any of the religions worshipping the Abrahamic God have a explanation for how this works? I'm a little lost.

I live in an Apartment. Neighbors are using drills to drill things into their walls. It is loud and invasive. I dont want to complain unless I have to. Is 10 o clock a decent time to ask them to be quiet? Or should I wait longer? Remember: apartment. Thanks.

Over the history of man kind, religion has corrupted the government, led to wars, and caused mass murders. Whenever and wherever there is religion, there are at least a number of people who are unhappy. For example, the church became corrupted in the Middle Ages and caused a lot of discontent, and 60 years ago, there was the Holocaust. If you think about it, it did more bad than good. Then why do we all follow a religion?

"44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure." - Daniel 2:44,45.
