Suppose that a man has commitment issues due to his father leaving the family for another woman when he was very young. The issues grew deeper when his father killed the woman and then himself, leaving the man without a father.

Keep in mind that this man is very afraid of taking risks, but he decides at the age of 26 to buy his girlfriend of 5 1/2 years an engagement ring. He is scared, but decides to propose. After he does, he freaks out and breaks up with her.

My question is this, did God give him those doubts? Or did the devil play off of his insecurity and put doubts in his mind? I know no one knows the exact answer, I would just like some opinions. Thanks a lot :)

I am thankful..............:

For the wife who says it's hotdogs tonight for dinner, because, it means she is home with ME and not out with someone else.

For the husband who is on the sofa being a couch potato, because, he is home with ME and not in the pub.

For the teenager who is complaining about doing the dishes, because, he/she is home with ME and not on the streets.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because, it means I have enough to eat.

For the pile of ironing, because, it means I have clothes to wear.

For the windows that need cleaning, the grass that needs mowing and the guttering that needs fixing, because, it means I have a home.

I recently gave this whole religion thing a lot of thought and I've decided to settle this for myself.

We can agree on a few points here...
1. You're the same religion that your family is. (For the most part.)
2. You were taught what to believe.
3. Your church tells you what to believe.
4. The bible (if you're christian) sets limits on your opinions.
5. You were brought up on (some side of the world) so your religion is that of which is dominant in your country/area/city/etc,

If you can agree to these questions, then you have fallen under a spell. You have given up your right to believe in what you truely want. You were told as a child what to believe, so like all kids, you believed your elders and held onto those beliefs. I personally think it's wrong to teach something as personal as religion. What do you think? Shouldn't people have the CHOICE to DISCOVER what religion they want? I don't think we should be spoon fed what to think and believe. It just seems wrong to me...

do you believe that all atheists and non-christians who have been exposed to christianity at least once in their life, know that it is the one true path, but fail to admit it?

I've been agnostic and atheist all of my life.

But what if I'm starting to be convinced that their is indeed a God? HOW can I know which religion (if any of them) is closest to the truth?

Please, if your answer is "faith" tell me HOW I would know where to put that faith.

Thanks in advance.
