Some TV based evangelical religions tell you that you are going to heaven to make you feel good. They are tickling your ears.
In the NT, Paul says that you should not listen to preachers that tickle your ears to make you feel good. Jesus, in His last days on earth, told His apostles, I give to you a new commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. That one commandment says no to road rage, criticism of others, getting angry for any reason, prejudice, child and spousal abuse. You can't cut in front of someone else, make the other guy angry, flip him a bird, die in an accident then tell God that because you believe in Him, you should be allowed in Heaven. Believing in Him means acting like you believe. To know what God expects of you each day, read the NT 15 minutes a day. Start with the Gospel of Luke, sometimes called The Gospel of the Holy Spirit.

Really when you die, you see hear feel nothing. Those people who say they've seen heard talked to God or Mary, espicially drug overdosers, are all mental creations. Like a dream.
Not all religion has a heaven or hell. Some religion says that dead is the way you want to be. The reality of it is, you die, your dead.

Well I don't think any religion says the BAD will die. Only the ones who don't believe in God and Jesus. Yes, I think that is the good of religion.

Most religions have a basic believe in eternal life, therefore dying is not a bad thing. Dying is sad for those left behind but most faith based religions teach that the deceased has gone on to their reward.

It's not good or bad that gets you anywhere after you die
it's who your best friend is
the only best friend that can keep you out of hell is Jesus
so if you don't want him as your best friend, then you can't enter the gates to heaven
