if the Mormon Church is false, then why would Father Joseph Vajda, a Roman Catholic Dominican monk, successfully complete a master's thesis at the University of California, Berkeley, which shows that this LDS doctrine of human exaltation is consistent with early Christian teachings?

The work in question is Jordan Vajda, OP, "Partakers of the Divine Nature": A Comparative Analysis of the Patristic and Mormon Doctrines of Divinization, master's thesis, Graduate Theological Union at the University of California, Berkeley, 1998, published under the same title as Occasional Paper No. 3 by the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies (Provo, Utah, 2002).

In this work, Father Vajda notes that the writings of the early Church fathers clearly express a belief in the divine potential of human beings - that we can become "gods" through the grace of Christ and partake in the divine nature.

We're not talking about legally....what you think is inappropriate and out of line?....whether there is a law to protect you or not.

Have you ever been in this situation? What did you do?

When I was 15, a manager at a fast food resturant that I worked at pushed me into the cooler and thrusted his groin on me. He pinned me down and told me that he could do whatever he wanted and no one would hear me scream.

I went home and told my parents. My dad called the corporate office and threatened to sue them if this man wasn't fired johnny on the spot. Needless to say, they sent another manager to replace him. He was fired immediately. My parent's were PISSED! Rightfully so.

Do this quiz and let us all know what the results come back with as well as the percentages.
Was it accurate? Do you have objections?

My results were:
1. Mahayana Buddhism (100%)
2. Theravada Buddhism (87%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (85%)
4. Neo-Pagan (85%)
5. New Age (83%)
I'm happy to see that the top two are Buddhism! I must be on the right track for my research! :)

I've been to many church-sponsored functions, including funerals and volunteer luncheons catered by caterers who happened to profess the same faith as the given church, or by parishioners of the church themselves.

Thus far I'd have to say that of the meals I've had, the Catholics excel at making a particularly succulent holiday meal. The Baptists offer great home cooking with a Southern twang. Unitarian Universalists offered mostly store bought stuff so they don't really count, but the few homemade pies of theirs I've tried were tasty. Methodists also had stuff probably second in my list to the Catholics.

Would you watch an Iron Chef battle between religious houses, maybe as a fundraising event? I sure would. I'd also do my best to be there to eat the leftovers.

I like to see people happy, so giving would be interesting. However, we consume so much damn stuff that could be used for a greater good. There are so many people in this world starving and dying from disease. The type of charity I HATE the most is a charity raising money to give presents to kids. Its only entertainment. We stimulate oursleves with new gadgets and materials while people die. Children in the US go to bed obsessed with materialism on christmas eve while others go to bed and never wake up...

Lets not even begin to discuss what Christians say Christmas is really about... lol...

.... and wonder what could possibly be the attraction?

I'm not talking about all of them, and I certainly don't mean to bash, but could you ever see yourself possibly wanting what they have? Do they constantly have to remind us how miserable it is being a Christian?

They say you will know them by their fruits.

Watchtower 8/15/81 "From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah’s people those who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude. They do not want to serve “shoulder to shoulder” with the worldwide brotherhood. (Compare Ephesians 2:19-22.) Rather, they present a “stubborn shoulder” to Jehovah’s words. (Zech. 7:11, 12) Reviling the pattern of the “pure language” that Jehovah has so graciously taught his people over the past century, these haughty ones try to draw the “sheep” away from the one international “flock” that Jesus has gathered in the earth. (John 10:7-10, 16) They try to sow doubts and to separate unsuspecting ones from the bounteous “table” of spiritual food spread at the Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where truly there is ‘nothing lacking.’ (Ps. 23:1-6) They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.

Ok all my life i was told that you do not put anything on a bible (Example: lay another book on top)
If this is so then would it be wrong to put flowers on top of the bible like Gwen Stefani did at her wedding? (The flowers were glued to it so is that wrong?)

Forgiveness and absolution are supposedly the building blocks of Christianity, I thought God was supposed to let anybody into heaven. Then suddenly, when the subjects were mis-behaving, some ruler decided to bring in eternal damnation for all those who sin (everybody virtually then). Is the idea of hell not completely against everything Christians stand for?
