They seem to work when I use them..

However, only when I surround myself in white candles and when I'm doing it with another person, usually works best with a male partner.

How about you? Do they work? Are they real? Any interesting stories?

For example, if one believes the meaning of life is love regardless of the worship of a deity isn't that a faith and therefore a religion?

So would that also mean atheism is the same as believing what one does in life is meaningless?

Does God expect us to gather with his people to pray and worship together on Saturday or Sunday? If we break our date with God, do we incur serious sin?

Yes, I know that Christians are maimed, tortured and murder in other countries, and I think that is HORRIBLE. (I think it is horrible when it happens to ANYONE for their faith)

But many (not all or most) American Christians claim that active persecution of Christians is happening in America.

But the only example I have seen of this is retailers greeting customers with "Happy Holidays". C'mon, is that really pesecution ?

Can you give me a concrete example of Modern Day persecution of Christians in the US, or at least a serious civil rights abuse.

Any Christians being jailed for reading a bible ? etc.

Thanks.

someone recently brought to my attention that israel is one of the most atheistic countries on earth.

http://www.adherents.com/largecom/com_atheist.html

does it surprise anyone else that a state which came into existence solely on the basis of a religious belief (and within living memory) is now among the world's most secular countries?

i have no antipathy toward israel, i think one could make a fair case for continued western support in the area simply on the grounds that israel is currently the nearest thing to a democracy in a region where notions of secularism and tolerance are desperately needed.

but it surprised me that the faith which built the nation was so soon dissipated once it was no longer needed.

People blissfully multiply due to the comfort and reassurance provided by a belief in God. Because of over poplutaion we will reach a point where the planet cannot sustain itself and various parts of the plantary life cycle will break down causing untold suffering and death. Which, in turn could cause the demise of religion or a return to dark ages.
Is this a viable glimpse of the future?

Allah holds ultimate power and commands ultimate respect. How else could he get the 9/11 hijackers into the cockpit.

How is this really any different that Yaweh commanding Abraham to kill his son, or genocide of the Hittites.

I am not trying to be judgmental or criticize anyone for their questions or the things that they are going through in their lives, and I've asked plenty of questions that some might not have an answer for, but honestly, questions like "When a girl looks at you, does that mean she likes you?" or "Does this mean he wants me back"? "If a guy slaps you on the shoulder, does that mean that he wants to date you?" "If he picked up my pencil, does that mean he likes me?" It's starting to get annoying as hell! Not because people ask, because they honestly expect you to give you their take on what someone we've never met, is feeling and it's impossible. Nobody can speak for all men or women everywhere and all people are different in their own unique way.

Why don't people ever come out and ask, the person exactly what they want to ask them, instead of sh!tload of strangers who have never met whoever it is that they like? I guess I'm more of a straightforward person, but what do you think?
