Yes -- I'm 49. I have a myspace and a friend from when I was five years old is on there (we grew up together) and I have a couple of old boyfriends on there from when I was in jr. high. I got on classmates.com and reunion.com -- searched my old schools AND the high school I would have gone to had I not moved out of state. That's helped. It is awesome getting in touch with them.....and on myspace -- we've been able to make up for lost time a little at a time......it's hard to catch up on 30 years, ya know? Almost impossible via email because you have to write way too much.

Contact Old Friends

While I have lost contact with many old friends, I have also been found by a couple. I've been in some organizations that list their officers on web sites or have had my name in the newspaper. When they Googled my name, it lead them to me.

Sadly, some of my friends are no longer with us. I've discovered their obituaries on-line. One problem trying to track people down is that everyone seems to move a lot and there are way too many people with the same name so you can't be sure you have the right one until you call. Did that once and the person who answered was about 30 years older than the one I was looking for. Alos, in this case, they were annoyed.

Best thing is to keep in touch even if it is only a card at Christmas time.

I had lost contact with some old highschool friends but we got in touch again on Classmates and had a highschool reunion...All of the ones who came are great people and even the ones I wasn't friendly with in high school, I really liked now. I still keep in touch with some of them.
Some other old friends I have completely lost touch with, I think sometimes you have friends for parts of your life when you need them but when you move on and they do also, the friendship just sort of evaporates naturally. Many of my old friends are like that, we still see each other occasionally, but now it is just casual instead of close. Some I only hear from once a year at Christmas, and we keep track of each other's doings, but don't socialize any more. And I've made new friends along the way, as our interests and circumstances have changed.

I spent several years living abroad as the result of being a military brat. Yet, 5 years ago found most of my close friends from that era through classmates. com and other websites.

What a joy to find them all! We all now get together 1-2x year and it's glorious. My best friend from that era and I visit each other and even traveled together two years ago :-) and we email daily.

I still have a few I lost contact with...particularly my first love, and yes, I often wonder how they/he are doing and what their life has been like.

Recently I found my 9th and 10th grade English teacher...he is now in his 90's! and he remembered me~! That was SO VERY NEAT!...'cause he was one teacher I learned so much from and adored! - even though he was strict! lol

Yes, there's a friend that I've tried to track down but it hasn't worked. Met her in Virginia Beach when our kids were young teens...she went back to TX and we came here to GA, and she even visited once. Suddenly cards started coming back, saying no known address. This is the time of year that I think of and miss her most, when we were sure to be in touch and catch-up.

Unfortunately yes, I was very busy raising a family and did lose contact. I often wonder about some people and where life lead them. I did exchange a few words with a classmate that had moved to Alaska. I found him on classmates.com

I'm an odd ball about friends. Seems that I rotate friends and never maintain contact with old ones. Nothing over 5 years.

I lost touch with an old friend I went to school with. We were friends from the 6th. grade on. She divorced in the 70s and moved. I have no idea what her name is now or what ever happened to her and here two children.
