I just saw a play last night... Jesus was the star of the play. I am all for Jesus, it's just the whole thing was a little corny.. .and I was wondering. When did Jesus get so into show business?

any thoughts?
(not trying to offend anyone by the way...)

You'd better get good seats and stick around for the grand finale.

There have been dramas and plays about Jesus for many years. At least during the Middle Ages, there were morality plays, Nativity plays, and so on.

There may have been plays, or at least parodies, about Jesus even in Roman times. See if you can't find a book called "The Final Bow", written about actors and actresses who put on satires or comedies (imagine that!) about Jesus. I rather enjoyed the book, especially the ending (but I won't spoil it here . . .)

No, I wasn't offended. You asked a very good question.
